The project
Paris Brassband was the 2012 winner of the French Brassband Championship.
Brassband? What is it?! You have all heard of Marc Hermann's movie, " Brassed Off ". Miners who meet up to play brass instruments and make music to escape their difficult social condition. This type of band appeared in England at the same time as Football . It developed mostly thanks to the organizing of competitions and trained musicians of an exceptional virtuosity. But regretably the movement stayed far from the millions of fans that Football generated.
The multiple facets of cornets, trombones, tubas and percussions allow them to interpret classical music, film music, jazz or even pop music.
The Brass Band movement arrived in France about thirty years ago with only a few bands whilst at the same time in the United Kingdom there were several thousand bands.
The Paris Brassband, a very young band, is composed of passionate virtuoso musicians driven by the desire to play together.
Every National Championship, if won, gives access to the prestigious European championship, the most famous competition in the Brass Band world . So there are 35 musicians, all motivated by this challenge, who will be travelling to Oslo in Norway at the beginning of May 2013, where they will meet the best European Brassbands and will be hoping to stand out in their first participation in an event at this level.

A trip as important as this generates a lot of expenses. Our association is making an appeal for all possible support. "Small streams become great rivers". Any participation will be welcome and will allow us to participate in the best possible conditions.
