Heritage In 1862, a new artisan establishment opened its doors in the millenary city of Barcelona. Above the door, its owner wrote “Handcraft leather and cabinet goods”. His name was Marwick, and he had come all his way down from Scotland. Nobody knew the reason, nobody asked why. But everybody saw his fine work, which made of him one of the most renowned leather manufacturers in Catalonia. In 1884, Marwick travelled to France to acquire more knowledge and to renew his style. He observed techniques that were new to him, especially concerning the art of mounting the furs. Back to his Barcelona craft shop, he relentlessly tried to incorporate them into his own work. The results were shining. Even today, artisans in the South of Europe can be considered Marwick’s disciples. To his last days in Barcelona, Marwick was always followed by his little pets, a couple of dogs named Mus and Roew. These "Cavaliers King Charles" accompanied him in his constant journeys to the tanneries were he selected his raw material: always premium fur, always the finest leather. In homage to Marwick, we named our brand "Mus and Roew".
