Tim Campanella - 1st Album "Mixtape of Impromptu"

Tim Campanella est un batteur / compositeur originaire du sud de la France (entre Nice et Antibes), établi au cours de ces dernières année à Amsterdam, New York, et maintenant Paris. En mars 2012 il enregistra à New York “Mixtape of Impromptu” son premier album en tant que leader, où figure des compositions, des reprises de standards et arrangement inédits. Diplomé du Conservatoire D’Amsterdam, avec un Bachelor Degree en Batterie Jazz, il reçeva en 2010 une bourse Fulbright lui permettant de faire une année de Master au Queens College de New York. Il étudia notamment avec John Riley, Gene Jackson, Nasheet Waits, Eric Harland, parmi d’autres. Lors de ces dernières années il joua dans différentes formations, tels que: Ayanna Witter-Johnson, John Raymond Project, Shauli Einav Quartet, Kestutis Vaiginis Quartet, Strange Rings, AG Collective, Dave Juarez Quartet. Il eut également l’occasion de partager brièvement la scène en jammant avec des artistes tels que Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove, ou encore Ambrose Akinmusire. Installé à Paris depuis septembre 2011, il continue son voyage, à la recherche de nouvelles sonorités et multiplie les experiences sur la scène jazz avec son propre groupe, et également sur la scène hip/hop avec le groupe JetLazz, avec qui il enregistra en février dernier un album qui sortira courant juin 2012. ENGLISH: Tim Campanella is a drummer / composer originally from the south of France (between Nice and Antibes), and established during those last years in Amsterdam, New York and now Paris. In march 2012, he recorded in New York “Mixtape of Impromptu”, his first album as a leader, featuring original compositions, arrangements of jazz standards and other material. He graduated from the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam with a Bachelor Degree in Jazz Drums, and received in 2010 a Fulbright Scholarship to study at Queens College of New York and do a master degree in Jazz Drums. His teachers were John Riley, Gene Jackson, Nasheet Waits, Eric Harland among others. In those last years, he played in various bands and projects such as: Ayanna Witter-Johnson, John Raymond Project, Shauli Einav Quartet, Kestutis Vaiginis Quartet, Strange Rings, Ag Collective, Dave Juarez Quartet. He also had the opportunity to briefly share the stage jamming with artists such as Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove, or Ambrose Akinmusire to name a few. Now living in Paris since September 2011, he’s continuing his journey, going after new sounds and multiplying the experiences on the jazz scene with his own group, and also on the hip/hop scene with the band « JetLazz » with who he recorded an album in February 2012, to be released in June 2012.
