Lilith' Art has the pleasure to present to you its 1st artistic and sports manifestation:
“ ça t’étonne?!!”
Lilith: First woman on earth before Eve. First myth of feminine revolt.
We are a charity association.
Main object: organization of exhibitions of contemporary art and demonstration of contemporary art for promoting womens health issues through contempory art, as well as introducing a young audience to contemporary art.
Raising awareness of the condition of women by Art.
Detail of the installation first to be knitted room knit completely by me and my mother who came to my help... One thank you moreover because she knits with me 80 % of the project (all the big breasts which serve as base). The rest is asked to the women.
The Association Lilith'Art includes Olivia Moélo, Rachel Kannengieser (President), Isabelle Desrois, Mike Thompson and Béatrice Thuet who all know women affected by breast cancer.
Lilith'Art is the brainchild of the artist Olivia Moélo. Graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Rennes.
Following her meeting last year with Doctor Eric Prados, hospital Bonnet Frejus, she agreed to take part in an exhibition for October Rose where she made the first work of art using woollen breasts which she donated to the hospital.
Shorthy after this her friend Rachel was diagnosed with breast cancer and Olivia decided then to dedicate a large part of her time and effort to the fight against breast cancer.
Around this time she had a dream in which she saw the image of a monumental work of art comprising of thousands of woollen breast of all shapes, colours and sizes and she had the idea of creating this to use as both a continual work of art and to rase awareness of breast cancer.
Then in December last year, Olivia created breast bonnets for Christmas and following a stay at a ski station, she had the idea of creating an artistic and sports performance on a ski slope.
The first bonnets. December 2013.
Funny and original gift.
We are at present organizing an artistic performance to promote action against breast cancer Women’s Day March 8th 2015.
Because the symbolic function of breast and its relationship to femininity, it semed to us essential to organise the event on Women's Day and encourage women to take preventive action so that breast cancer can be detected before it is too late. Because when it is discovered in time it can be cured.
Olivia had the idea for the descent after seeing her 12 year old daughter Morgan wearing a breast bonnet on a ski slope in February and she imagined how powerful an image could be created by 205 women forming a pink ribbon and then descending to recreate the word S K I N.
We hope to organize a group of 205 volunteer women who have suffered breast cancer, have lost someone, or are closely involved in this cause to make this descent:
The participants must be women:
- Who have had or been cured of cancer..
- Who have lost a relative because of cancer or concerned by the cause
- Who are Good level skiers.
- Who are 12 to 75 of age with a medical certificate and civil insurance.
- Who are ready to descend a blue ski slope with breast bonnets and be filmed by a television.
The women will form ribbon at the top of the slope, the first skiers will hold the bow and go down one behind the other, the others following in lines spreading out to the bottom of the hill to form the letters SKIN – in homage of this association and of the partenership.
We hope to sell bonnets and accessories to internet users to raise 35 000€ with funds to be donated to all national Associations which will help us on this project
Our aim is to continue the project in other countries such as Switzerland, Germany and Belgium where we would find local knitters to collaborate and founds would be donated to local Associations for breast cancer.
We hope to sell 3 000 multicolored bonnets at the event and hand out 3000 tubular tissus for free at the resort on the morning.
PURPOSE OF THE EVENT:
To be able to sell in one day, on Women’s day, 100 000 breast bonnets, all around the world for this cause and to give part of the sales benefits to different associations in the host countries.
Example of event (which can be adapted according to the impact or wishes of the resorts where it takes place)

DONATION FOR BREAST CANCER: a hand knitted breasts.
“Breast cancer is above all women’s concern and a story of feminine integrity
Today we, women, all live with a the sword of Damocles threatening to take away part of our femininity. Nevertheless, young or old, with or without breast surgically removed or reconstructed, don’t we remain women.
Is our femininity limited to our breasts ? our hair ? our ovaries ? or our age ?..."
Cécile Reboul Cleach, founder and president Chairof SKIN.
In this project for the prevention of breast cancer, the artist asks women around the world to gift one or more knitted breasts in pink tones (ranging from very pale pink to red) as well as a range of skin colors.
The event "Pink October" incites the pink and the breast is associated with soft and sweet skin tones.
The 'Knitters' will be part of the artwork. Their name and city will be mentioned in the exhibition as well as in the catalog, as it is the human, social and political dimension that takes the symbolism of this interactive artwork to its full extent.
The breast, utmost symbol of femininity, conveys, next to its biological function, strong emotional and mental values. It stands for giving, shelter, healing, interiority, gentleness and resource. The breast is associated with life in an extremely powerful way.
As well as a statement against cancer, this artwork symbolises more: women are knitting the breasts entirely by hand so that the artist can exhibit her work and thus have a strong impact to talk about cancer, which affects one in eight women and is still very deadly. The installation of Olivia Moelo involves linking all these knitted breasts to different parts of a hexagon, to create a monumental environment, perfumed with dried lavender. The knitters will all be part of the formidable human adventure and challenge which the artist has started.
Thank you all for your involvement in this exciting project.

A sending of the Netherlands. Thank you Franjze!!! Too beautiful parcel.
Numerous knitting associations and numerous women agreed to go into this adventure and she receives regularly knitted breasts. Olivia thanks all these women for their tremendous participation with her in this beautiful cause!!!
Monique, a super-knitter who made the journey this summer specially to come to meet me and to give me almost 100 breasts. Thanks for this generosity and this kindess. I hope that she will be present with us next year during the exhibition with the association SKIN.
Olivia went in Germany and is in touch with other countries to present the work in progress and to find more women interested in working on this project. She receives at present breasts from the Netherlands, France, Germany, Canada, with other countries to follow.
My work is concerned with the right for feminine pleasure and is against all violence against women’s body’s. I felt I had to get involved in this cause with regard to all the work. I had accomplished on femininity as a renowned artist in the Var.
As a visual artist, I studied at the Beaux-Art school of Rennes, and now live in Sainte-Maxime. I sculpt (resin and aluminium), paint monumental instalations and create which can be seen regularly at art shows throughout the south of France.
As part of the action against breast cancer and “October Rose”, I am now in the process of collecting a thousand woollen breast knitted by myself, my mother and women throughout the world. This project is a work in progress which will continue over a period of 2-3 years minimum.
The goal of this work is to create an environment as wide as possible so that one can enter my colorful, perfumed and surprising world.
Then, once the exhibitions ready, I plan to take it to different countries and to put up for “series of knitted breasts”. The funds raised will be given to the charities concerned with breast cancer.
Doctor Eric Prados, Bonnet Hospital, SOS Cancer, Unicancer, SKI, CEW, Solidarity knitting and many associations and hospitals are gathering around this project.

For the moment, Olivia Moélo make present of her working hours on practically all the counterparties which I propose to the Internet users otherwise all this adventure would not be possible. we hope that we shall go up to the end and that we shall put back regularly some money to the associations which need it. We are quite concerned by this cancer.
Approximately 149.000 persons, among whom 85 000 men and 63.000 women, die from the cancer a year in France, that is 411 persons who die every day. They are the most murderous cancers of breast and the prostate. Every year, we discover approximately 350.000 new cases of cancers in France. The number of deathes due to the cancer does not stop increasing worldwide, a tendency particularly marked for the breast cancer and in developing countries, where spreads the western way of life, according to published figures, on Thursday, December 12th, by the international Research centre on the cancer ( CIRC), which depends on the world Organization of the health ( OMS).
The number of deaths amounted in 2012 to 8,2 millions, in increase of 8 % with regard to 7,6 millions registered four years earlier. The only breast cancer was fatal to 522 000 women last year, in increase of 14 % with regard to 2008. " The breast cancer is also one of the main causes of death by cancer in the least developed countries ", explains David Forman, leader of the section " given by the cancer " to the CIRC. " It is partially because the evolution of the ways of life is at the origin of an increase of the incidence, but also partially because the clinical progress registered against the disease does not benefit the women living in these regions. "
The breast cancer: thanks to the search and to the coverage, the mortality by breast cancer decreases in 1,3 % a year. There is a most mortal cancer at the woman.
