The Optimists need your help.
Meeting at our vocational training Centre of Circus Arts, "The Lido" Toulouse. We created the company "THE OPTIMISTS". We are 14 artists from different backgrounds and countries and Circus arts are our collective passion. Our group has one Spanish, four French, three Israelis, two Brazilians, two Norwegian, one Finnish and one English. This diversity of nationalities is who we are, a real cultural wealth, a collective strength.
As part of our training, we created the show "Cats Can't Fly". A collective creation nourished by our circus disciplines, our personalities, and our group life. After organisation and completing the "Optimists France-Israel tour July 2014", we each followed our individual artistic paths. Now, once again we find ourselves reunited in order to go perform our show in Mexico at the invitation of the FICHO festival (Festival International de Circo y CHOu de Mexico)
The Ficho festival invited us to play two performances of the show "Cats Can't Fly" and participate in a collective cabaret with other artists not associated with the Optimistic team. We will also carry out several workshops working along side a related "social circus" project. This project involves performing and giving workshops for people who do not have access to the festival. In particular in an orphanage in Guadalajara. Two of us will also participate as Judges for the "young talent of Mexico" competition.
