We are a little theatre troupe consisting of three actors in Paris. We started off with a little idea for a sketch in 2012 at the Cours Florent, and it received great encouragement and excitement which led us to create a one hour long performance. Thanks to the talented writer Marion Subtil we managed to have a script that matched our perception of the play, and thus, the rehearsals began. Our aim is to perform in a theatre in Paris to eventually make a living under the name of Daisy Doll. We hope this site will make you want to see more, as we will want to give you more. Daisy Doll grows everyday, and we would for you to be a part of it! We hope you enjoy what you see and we wish you a very Daisy day!

The project

First, there is Daisy. She comes from Kansas and speaks with a strong and intimidating accent. She is straight forward, with a strong personality, and some might even say, a little bit vulgar. This dummy has accompagned Lana Boy since she was a 12 year old girl and would come out to entertain friends and family.

Now, there is also ventriloquism. As an exam for her class at the Cours Florent, Lana Boy is faced with the challenge to create a theatre performance that must last 7 minutes long. In the exam, there are no rules, and Lana decided to write out a sketch about Daisy. But instead of having a dummy, she was the dummy.

Daisy is a rebel character, who refuses to let herself be manipulated by Bill, the ventriloquist.

Between a humor sketch and a poetic performance, the little scene received a great success and the judges where very enthusiastic about the performance. They pushed Lana to build on the short scene and make a play that would last an hour long. Lana then turned to Marion Subtil, another student in her class, to write a text based on what she had seen.

And so, this is how Daisy Doll has to come to appear on your screen.

This project consists of 3 actors:

Lana Boy will be interpreting Daisy Doll

Aurélien Lucas, will be interpreting Bill Le Ventriloque

Topi Pudas, will be interpreting Le Musicien

And our writer and director, Marion Subtil.

Our play now consists of a mix between dance, theatre, tap dancing, singing, and music to create a spectacular show with a mysterious vibe.

Also, thanks to Mae Ferron, a very young artist of 17 years old, was inspired by our project and showed us her first vision of the poster.

Lana Boy is a 20 year old actress who performed for the first time at the age of 8  in the play "Alice in Wonderland" as the Chechire Cat. She then pursued her work in Bangkok (Thailand) where she played in multiple plays such as Twelth Night by Shakespeare, Metamorphoses de Mary Zimmerman, and many other. With her IB diploma in hand, she then moved to Paris to join the Cours Florent. It was then she created a 7 minute scene on Daisy Doll that caused the judges to push her to write a longer version with Marion Subtil.

Aurelien Lucas started off his theatrical career in August 2010 in a summer course at the Cours Florent, in Paris. He then pursued his work in Paris where he entered in second year in Acte UN. He then moved to the Cours Florent where he was accepted into second year with Antonia Malinova. Parrallel to this, he followed Acting in English classes.

He debuts in the theatre industry, and after meeting Lana Boy, who offers him the role of Bill in "Daisy Doll", and he gladly accepts.

Topi Pudas, 20 years old, began his acting studies with Lana Boy in Bangkok, Thailand with the IB theatre arts course. In early 2012 he was accepted, and has now completed the 2nd year of Cours Florent's acting in English programme. Recently he was also accepted into Antonia Malinova's 3rd year French class in Cours Florent. For the past 6 months he performed the role of Pinnocchio in a performance by a theatre from the Cartoucherie. He first met Daisy during his stay in Thailand, and has remained a close friend since.

Marion Subtil, 22 years old, studies theatre in the Conservatory of the 18ème arrondissement of Paris and at the Cours Florent to become an actress. She is also interested in the direction of actors and writing theatre plays. Earlier, Marion has directed and co-written a play called "La Folle aux Corbeaux", a theatre piece adapted by the book written by Jonathan Coe "Testament à L'Anglaise", in which she also performed.

Daisy is a dummy created by Bill. She slowly takes her own life in charge and attempt to free herself from Bill's tight grip.

Bill is a ventriloquist. But his act is falling apart and disappoints its public. However, Bill never looses hope and keeps the show rolling.

The show must go on.

He is part of Bill's act, putting music effects here and there. He is bored and tired by life itself and floats around in Bills show, not really knowing who he is there.

You see here the work of Mae Ferron, a young artist of 17 years old.

It has been 6 days now since we started building the case where Daisy will be tucked in by Bill.

A new advertisment campagne has begun !

Hidding our pains, shutting our thoughts down... We all attempt to appear happy to the face of society. But where do the lies start and the truth end? And what if the masks never fall?

A promotion to the show "Daisy Doll".

Get your own Daisy picture taken in exchange of a donation of 50 euros or more !

Why fund it?

Putting up a play isn't as easy as it looks!

Thanks to your help, we will be able to make our project come true and be able to perform in November 2012.

It is our last shot, and we need you!

The money we will collect would be for:

    Which makes a total of 10 047 Euros !

Our goal is to move Daisy Doll to the festival of Avignon next summer and the Fringe festival in New York!

This performance is in two languages, so the option is always there!

Thanks a bunch!

Daisy Doll is a theatre performance that was first initiated in the month of March 2012. It started off as a 7 minute sketch that quickly got a lot of attention. During a exam at the Cours Florent, Daisy was first shown to the students of the Second year, with Antonia Malinova in the audience. The little sketch had done its effect. A great success...
