Présentation détaillée du projet
What is the "Before I Die" tree ?
"Before I Die" is an ephemeral tree sculpture that will be created for the Nowhere festival in July. It's an art piece that implies the participation of everyone. People will be encouraged to write their hopes and dreams on pieces of card. The cards will hang from the tree. They will be very visible to visitors.
The tree, based around 3 pillars, will be a place where people can come and vocalise their hopes and dreams for the future.
By vocalising and writing down hopes and dreams, people will be one big step closer to achieving them. Reading other people's cards will be a great way to harness your own. People will leave feeling inspired and motivated to greater achievements. The trees will act as a source of joy and inspiration.
The tree shape is inspired by the Acacia tree. The design is inspired by UK designer Tom Price’s trees.
During the day
Wishes will hang from cardboard thought bubbles, designed to represent leaves. There will also be 3D balls hanging like bunches of grapes. The bubbles and grapes will create a shady area. People will come to rest and be inspired by other peoples’ wishes. They will be attracted by the shade and the inspiring messages. The environment will be enriched by ambient sounds playing through hidden speaker. These will feature sound tracks such as people laughing, people sleeping, a stadium crowd cheering and clapping.
During the night: I need YOU to make it happen !
At night the environment will light up with UV lights. These will pick up on the white tubes. The trees will glow brightly. The ambient audio will pick up. As more people add wishes, more shade is created, enhancing the chance to escape the sun and be inspired by other peoples’ ideas.
That's where your help is greatly needed ! Funding is required to acquire UV lights and speakers for the ambient sounds.
When and where?
The tree is part of the Nowhere festival which will take place in the desert in Northern Spain in July. Nowhere is the European Burning Man. Every year, about a thousand Burners live together for one week in a sustainable, creative and participatory environment. At the end of the event, everything is left as before the event, leaving no trace. It's all about art, sustainability, community and fun!
Make a wish for the ones you love and I will hang it on the tree. Look at the rewards on the right side to see how you can send and receive dreams and hopes!
