It all starts in Beijing, 2 years ago, on a stormy night. Totally soaked despite my raincoat, I decided to use some DIY ideas.
About 20 prototypes later, thermoformed and hand-sewn on an igloo tent structure, here's a lightweight and convenient bicycle protection, even for electric bikes.
The idea is simple: to unfold, from a small bag, and install quickly, like a camping tent, a protective bubble above any bike.
The bag - 38 x 10 cm - 1,5 kg
In addition to protection against rain, sun and wind, Kaps guarantees:
♦ Optimum visibility to almost 360 degrees
♦ Reflective strips for better night lights
♦ A modular structure according to your needs, the front windshield can fall back on the roof when the rain stops
♦ A broad protection that includes the front basket and rear passenger
♦ Identical flexible arches with your igloo tent. You will use them during your cycling, then on the tent at night. Save space and significant weight over long distances!
♦ A back pocket to slip your umbrella or some stuff
♦ An original advertising space on the back of your Kaps if you want to communicate
♦ Above all, an ecological act that encourages everyone to leave his car in the garage
THEN GET OUT YOUR BIKE, IT RAIN !

For the happy travelers passing through or living in China, a convivial evening will be held in Beijing in a place to be defined depending on the success of the gathering. So around June, beginning of the rainy season, I invite you to get the Kaps you ordered. Feel free to come by bike, for free installation!
I run a small-scale production, made in China, but certainly by 100% French hands. I live there since almost eight years now, and the relatively low cost of raw materials allows me to offer you the cheapest rain-Kaps of the market!
Your participation will be mainly used for the purchase of fabrics, transparent plastics, flexible arches and frames ... and I take care of the rest if orders remain below 100 Kaps. Yes, I do everything by myself! I went part time just for this project, because it is my pleasure to design and achieve things by hand.
If you like the project and it succeed, I will propose some special improvements.
