<p>As often, the story begins in the family garage where Edouard practices his first amateur brewing. But the hobby becomes a vocation and very quickly transforms into the desire to open a brewpub in Brussels. The team made up of the geeky brewer and the crazy creative imagines a <strong>surreal place </strong>serving exceptional beers.</p>
<p>In 2020, reality joins the imaginary, as Brasserie Surréaliste sets up shop in the former Atelier Coppens. This iconic building will house over 1,500 sqm a <strong>micro-brewery</strong>, a <strong>taproom</strong>, a <strong>beer shop</strong>, a <strong>creative</strong> <strong>kitchen</strong> and finally a space dedicated to <strong>digital</strong> <strong>arts</strong>.</p>

<p>A brewpub, combination of the words "brewery" and "pub", is a place that is both a micro-brewery and a bar. This amazing concept inspired by the States enables to have <strong>ultra</strong> <strong>fresh beers</strong> since they are brewed on site and served directly from the tanks.</p>
<p>It is therefore a sustainable project because it eliminates packaging and transport which represent more than half of the environmental impact in the production cycle.</p>
<p>The brewpub will be open daily and will not only offer our <strong>own beers</strong> but also <strong>guest beers </strong>from everywhere, natural wines, and cocktails. For food lovers, we will offer small dishes to share for lunch and dinner - simple and tasty cuisine, sometimes exotic tastes but always seasonal and quality products.</p>

<p>Finding the island of our dreams was our biggest challenge. This fabulous art deco building from 1932, originally a <strong>banana warehouse</strong> 🍌, has known many lives - warehouse, parking, furniture store, hat workshop - it was finally abandoned for almost a decade.The building located in the heart of <strong>Brussels</strong> faces the magnificent and green Place du Nouveau Marché au Grains.</p>
<p>Our project is to create a unique place, a place at the <strong>crossroads of genres</strong> where you can drink a beer, have a coffee with your newspaper, see an artistic exhibition, have a bite, party with friends or simply chill an afternoon…</p>

<p>More than an artistic current, surrealism is, according to us, a state of mind. The movement develops around <strong>transgression</strong> and a <strong>disregard</strong> of the norm. Beauty is now born out of the unexpected.</p>

<p>These values inspire our philosophy, our mission is to surprise you every day. The video we made is an introduction to this artistic approach, one of our rooms will be entirely dedicated to digital art. We want to promote young artists: musicians, street artists, DJs, chefs and many more.</p>

<p>At Brasserie Surréaliste, we're focused on hop-heavy & juicy beers, as well as all the forgotten Belgian ales like the sour saison or mixed fermentations beers.</p>

<p>You may have already seen the Surrealist, our Pale Ale available in a hundred bars and restaurants in Belgium. This is just the appetizer because we will brew a plethora of beer styles such as Pale Ales, IPA, saisons, stouts, kettle-sour and mixed fermentations or even barrel-aged: <strong>psychedelic creations</strong> and flavours that shake you up! Last but not least, we use only natural ingredients, our beers are unpasteurized and unfiltered in order to retain all their aromas.</p>

<p>We are fortunate to have convinced the banks to lend us the money for a <strong>state-of-the-art brewhouse</strong> with <strong>1000L </strong>and <strong>2000L </strong>tanks, as well as a semi-automatic canning line. There are at least ten thousand pounds of pure stainless steel! But we still have a lot of stuff to finance. <strong>So join the TRIBE :) </strong></p>
<p>We decided to totally switch to <strong>cans</strong>! Or almost… since the Surrealist will remain available in bottle. Lighter and more ecological because 100% recyclable, the cans are above all a guarantee of quality for our extra hopped beers.</p>

<p>Our goal is to make you travel! Taste a beer that you had never heard of, try food with new flavors, dance on indie sound, have a crush on an artist ... Drinking the same beers all your life is a bit like going on holidays every year in the same country, it's nice but it lacks adventure. <p>The initial target is 20,000 euros. This little fortune will allow us to invest in the cold room and the 25 beer lines. Obviously there are a lot of things that we would like to invest in: beer barrels, additional fermentation tanks, incredible decorations. The more the better!</p>
