Compilation Nymphony Records Vol.11 What is Nymphony Records? Nymphony Records is the first student electronic music label in France. The label is the result of a group of students from Grenoble Ecole de Management and was born from a music production competition eleven years ago. It is now managed by a team of fifty students who take turns over the years, all driven by the same love: electronic music. The 2021-2022 team Our ambition? To accompany our ten artists throughout their creative process and to organise their virtual promotion and events, in Grenoble, Paris and Lyon, all of which are rocked by this emerging musical style. Nymphony Records is also a festival in 2016 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the label, a second one in 2021 for the 10th anniversary, one date per year at La Belle Electrique (Grenoble concert hall), dozens of EPs released throughout the year and a community of more than 10 000 members! 📷 📷 What is our project? The annual music production competition is aimed at all artists, amateur or more qualified, who want to make their talent known and evolve on the electronic scene in France and abroad. This year, it will take place from 04 January to 28 February 2021. The principle ? Each track is carefully listened to by the members of the label, in charge of selecting the 10 best tracks, then mastered at our expense and thanks to your donations. The compilation is then released in physical format, on vinyl. The vinyl compilation is distributed free of charge to our student network in Grenoble and Paris, to the winning artists and to you, KissBankers! For 5 years now, the compilation has been pressed in vinyl format. As the compilation is eclectic, we have chosen two different vinyls: one dedicated to House music and the other with a more Techno/Minimal tendency. Each year, several hundred tracks are sent to us. Last year, we had the chance to discover artists like Pince, A-Link or Kitchen Plug. Here is the visual of the 2021 Compilation : 📷 📷 (designs entirely made by our in-house graphic designer) In 2020, the Compilation was pressed to 400 vinyls (200 House Vinyls and 200 Techno) on sale at the following independent record shops: - Betino’s and Techno Import in Paris - Chez Emile in Lyon - Vinyl Dealer in Lille - Le comptoir du disque in Montpellier Indeed, we want the compilation to be distributed via a material support so that the work of the artists and ours are tangible. At the same time, vinyl is now an essential part of the current electronic music landscape but also in the daily life of many people. It is for us the ideal material that will allow a better auditory quality and will give more honour to the different artists. It was made possible thanks to you and the trust you have placed in us, which allowed us to exceed our initial goal of 2200 euros by collecting 2975 euros in 60 days. What's next? The project will end in beauty at the arrival of spring with several launch parties (Paris, Grenoble, Lyon... ) which will highlight the Volume 11 Compilation and allow the selected artists to perform in front of a real audience. The visual of last year's Paris release party (there was none this year due to the health crisis). 📷 Our team At the head of the project this year, a team of 4 young enthusiasts: Zoé Berthomier, Arthur Blum, Adrien Laporte and Marouane Benyahya The EY competition The Nymphony Records compilation was lucky enough in 2016 to be elected best Grenoble Ecole de Management associative project by the prestigious auditing firm EY and to be qualified for the grand final in Paris. This year again we will try to win this award. 📷 Also follow the project on Facebook Youtube Soundcloud Allocation of funds Our project is a collective project that we have been carrying out with passion and determination since its creation: we encourage the talents of tomorrow to participate in our Competition and we distribute the Compilation around us to give visibility to these talents! It is therefore quite natural that we have been using participatory financing since the birth of the competition and it is important to us to pass on this collective dimension year after year. Your participation is precious to us in order to carry out a high-quality project! Without you, it simply would not exist. This major project requires significant funding. That's why we are appealing to you today! According to the provisional budget, the total cost of our project has been estimated at €3,088. The budget is supplemented by the proceeds of frequent events organised by the label and the proceeds from the sales of previous years' compilations. What costs will the funds raised cover? - the mastering of the tracks we select - the vinyl pressing; - the organisation of the two launch events (venue hire, security, sound engineers, artists' fees and/or expenses...) (if they can be realised, depending on the evolution of the crisis) If the collection reaches the set objective ? Thanks to your solidarity, we will be able to finance the mastering of the selected titles as well as the vinyl pressing. If the collection exceeds the set objective? The surplus will be used to organise more substantial launch parties in other French cities, always with a view to promoting the selected artists.
