EMBRACE / ENLACEMENT

This is the magic instant, the key moment that determines the relationship between the partners of an ephemeral dance.

When I began photographing the Argentine tango, I was fascinated and my eye, through the camera, literally absorbed by these arms around the bodies.

Encouraged by my surroundings, I decided to prepare an exhibition and create a book on this theme, telling a unique vision of this dance.

The project mainly focuses on the intimacy seen from different angles, different intensities, with different stories.

I am in contact with a gallery in Berlin where I could expose within the period that suits me. I decided that it would be in autumn 2015.

Why? Because I would need time to:

- create a new set of pictures based on existing shots

- work on the book layout

- work on photo printing and book publishing

I want to offer the public a new portfolio, strong from previous experience.

A SOBER AND POWERFULL EXHIBITION

As you see on the photos here, I seek light and contrast, which let appear the skin of the arms, shoulders, neck or a face that disappears. A concentrated intensity in partial shots of the dancers.

The exhibition will be divided in three different designs:

- printing of 15 photos in B&W, on A2 or A1 paper

- 1 photo printed in red and black, on A2 or A1 paper

- printing of 1 photo in B&W on a panoramic canvas

- 1 photo printed in B&W, on large scale translucent textile

Why different formats and media?

To enrich the experience of the viewer. I am convinced that this adds to the perception of the photo. But I want to keep it simple, so this is why I decided limit the declination.

AN ART GALLERY SPECIALLY DEDICATED TO PHOTOGRAPHY

The exhibition will be held at Neuköllner Leuchtturm (Neukölln's Lighthouse) in Berlin: Neuköllner Leuchtturm / Galerie für Fotografie (unfortunately in german language only).

It's quite a big space, the organizers are very open for any type of art.

The exact date will be scheduled after the success of the campaign.

A BOOK IN ADDITION TO THE EXHIBITION

The publishing of this book of about 50 pages will more than simple object, it will be an extension of the exhibition which will perpetuate the previous experience for those who will join it, and a travel companion for those who can not attend . For all, it will be a stopover for the eyes and an call for the inner journey.

All the pictures of the exhibition will be included in the book and will be supplemented by not yet released photographs.

Some photos will be accompanied by short texts on the theme of the EMBRACE, written for the most part of them by tangueras and tangueros (tango dancers). They will be published in their original language with an English translation and the name of their author.
