Fr : Le projet consiste dans la création d'un album original centré autour des musiques swing de la période des années 30/40.

A l'instar de leurs idoles comme Chick Webb ou encore Count Basie, Le Hot Sugar Band, en toute modestie, va tenter de se rapprocher du style de l'époque, en y rajoutant sa touche personnelle.

Le groupe a pour particularité de jongler avec des morceaux entièrement instrumentaux (sans voix) ou avec des voix aussi bien masculines que féminines, dans la tradition du jazz. Le groupe, composés d'artistes auteurs et compositeurs, proposera tant des arrangements et réadaptations, que des compositions ou reprises originales.

Fr : L'enregistrement de l'album aura pour but de se rapprocher au maximum des "recording sessions " de l'époque. En effet, les prises de son se feront en live dites "one take", c'est à dire sans ré-enregistrement ni remaniement post record. L'idée étant de se rapprocher au maximum des enregistrements de l'époque : micro et pré ampli vintage, en essayant de numériser au minimum. Un des buts étant de garder le son des instruments au plus proche de leur son acoustique .
