La boite à Miracles : Exposition en l'honneur du cinquantenaire de la disparition de "Le Corbusier"

<p> <strong>Who are we?</strong> We are the inhabitants of the Cité Radieuse in Marseilles, an architecture of the collective housing of the 20th century. Our building is visited every day by tourists from all over the world which makes it one of the most popular monuments in Marseilles (70,000 people visited the building in 2014).</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Img_1913-1422539466" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/157065/IMG_1913-1422539466.JPG"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>What are we doing?</strong> We, the inhabitants, together with the cultural club of the Cite Radieuse, a non profit organisation created in 1953, are organizing an event to motivate fellow inhabitants, whether young or old, untalented or gifted, jokers or poets to create an artistic collaboration throughout the year.  Each inhabitant will create a piece of art inspired by the creative spirit of Le Corbusier. The Cité Radieuse will open with guided tours led by people who live in the building.   You will have the opportunity to walk the inside « streets », discover the artistic creations of the people set on the food boxes of each flat and visit the artistic collaboration of the cabin under the stilts.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Images__2_-1422539502" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/157066/images__2_-1422539502.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Why?</strong> We know that many prestigious events will be taking place in France and throughout the world this year.  We would join this hommage and show the energy of la Cite Radieuse. With the help of an association of visual artists, « Les Pas Perdus ».  « Les Pas Perdus » were chosen due to their understanding of architecture, collective housing and every day poetry.  They specialize in creating workshops in visual arts for non- artists, in order to expand the dream and fantasy that lies in each of us.  They will be doing these workshops during a 7 month period.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Chaiseschaudes01-1422539424" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/157064/ChaisesChaudes01-1422539424.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>The artistic project</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> Each of the 327 flats will have a sculpture that will express a bit of our personal history in connection to Le Corbusier (the man and the building) Under the stilts, there will be a cabin that looks like Le Corbusier’s one in Roquebrune.  The cabin will be around one stilt of the Cite Radieuse building like a child on the protective leg of his mother.  This cabin will be made of different objects selected by the inhabitants.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Images__3_-1422539540" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/157068/images__3_-1422539540.jpg">  <img alt="Images__5_-1422539656" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/157070/images__5_-1422539656.jpg"></p>
