Bruce Weir, an Australian lawyer and artist, has fallen in love with my painting and has offered to promote my work on the other side of the world.
Together we have come up with the plan to exhibit my paintings in a gallery he is involved with.
Great, no ?
Over the last few months, I have been sending my work over by airmail ; piece by piece, painting after painting, in order to build up enough material to be shown. Now, the time has come to bring my energy overseas to help Bruce finalize this project. Needless to say, the prospect of painting on the spot, with the Australian influences and energy is as big an incentive to me as the exhibition can be.
As a side story, it turns out that 50 years ago my parents planned to emigrate – to Australia ! And guess what : that's when I pop up, unexpected, and... change of plans !!!! Would my Australian destiny be calling again ??
Whatever it is, I embrace the opportunity and take it a as sign to move on in my artistic and personal development.
And this is where you play a key part : I NEED YOU !
It is a once in a life time opportunity to be able to hold an exhibition on the other side of my world, in Adelaide to be exact. I will share the experience with you and will be posting pictures and videos of my stay - and of course the exhibition.
You will be able to contribute in the standard way to the project by pledging and receiving in return a choice of rewards, including original paintings.
But there is also an original twist: since this trip is all about sharing, all my backers will be invited to a party in my garden next summer. I have cut one of my larger paintings into 350 10cm by 10cm pieces. The plan is for these pieces to travel all over the world and to be reunited at a party next summer in France, over a good meal. Each backer can decide whether to keep his or her piece or to recreate the painting with it.
Let's make this work !!!
