The project

This season the current dancers of Dance in Art Junior Company had the amazing opportunity to organise for the first time an International choreography competition for professionals in the Netherlands. It is a good chance for emergent choreographers from all over the world to share one stage and exchange their working experience, concepts and talent.

For the first edition we selected 23 new contemporary works among 140 applications and we are happy to present them in Haarlem on the 6th May 2017 (Toneelschuur theatre).

WHAT WILL YOU COVER IF YOU DECIDE TO HELP US:

Since the beginning of the project we tried to contain the costs as much as possible and to make it affordable for all the dancers and choreographers applying. After an intense work we managed to cover 80% of the total costs such as the theatre rent, the administration costs, marketing and all the professionals involved. However we are still looking for the amount that will be given to the first places in both categories (junior and senior) which is 820 euros in total : 250 euros junior money price + 500 euros senior money price + the 8% commission. As the dance community is based on connecting people and creating personal contact we decided to ask for your help rather than referring to big brands. We would like to take you on this journey with us and it gives you the opportunity to be the first to support emerging talents and together expand the limit of art.

IT IS NICE TO MEET YOU

Martine Van Santen (director of Netherlands Choreography Competition) and her team (Isabelle Campagne, Ione Barton, Sam Raymond, Emma Sickert, Vivian Pratanou, Merel Van den Beld, Rita Correia) are happy to announce the First Choreography Competition for emergent choreographer in The Netherlands.
