We are discussing our plans and the many unknowns that await us. We look forward to the adventure and know already that we will be practicing our improvisation skills along the way.</p> <p>  </p> <p> After we return, we will be filled with many impressions that you might be interested in hearing about. We would like to invite you to a special gathering the day after we return. David and Sanan have kindly opened their home to give us space to tell you about our experiences and to share with you a taste of Morocco. This will be your chance to hear our firsthand stories before Willemijn returns to Amsterdam. <p> Only a few days left before we leave for Morocco! We are so thankful that you are backing this project. You are participating in a significant way!<br /> <br /> A few days ago we received our schedule from the local association. It will be a busy two weeks! Every day we will each teach four classes with 10-12 toddlers in each class, in eight different centers. So we will be working with hundreds of children during these two weeks! As you can imagine, there is much to prepare.<br /> <br /> Last week I (Willemijn) took some crash courses in working with this age group and got to visit and try out my class in a primary school in Amsterdam. It has been very inspiring and I have several ideas of how to help the kids create art pieces in a way that is related to my own visual work.<br /> <br /> Thanks to your generous donations, I (Noelle) was able to purchase some basic percussion instruments that are appropriate for this young age range. This will provide the children with a hands-on opportunity to learn and imitate rhythms and sounds, and to also have their first try at creating and improvising on their own! For many of these kids, this will be their first opportunity to hold and play a musical instrument.<br /> <br /> We will write again after we arrive in Casablanca on Friday. They are arranging for us to be working in a different center every day with different kids. We will be teaching 2 hours in the mornings and 2 hours in the afternoons, working primarily with quite young children, ages 3-6.
