Veni, Vidi, Volontari...

I have the opportunity to do a full-time 6 months volunteering to support youth in Turkey and achieve various humanitary actions.

It would be my second volunteering with the association, the Turkish Red-Crescent. We succeed in achieving a first EVS (European Voluntary Service) project of 6 months from Mars to September 2015 so we would like to start again a new one. My first project was supported by the Erasmus + program and partly thanks to my savings. But today I need your help for the second project.

My future activities will focuse on the turkish youth who have some financial difficulties or a disability. We will achieve actions togther in order to help them reching their objectives. With the Red-Crescent, we will train them and give them knowledge about interncultural learning, support them in their career project, inform them about european opportunities, voluntary programs,...They don't have access to those information so they need us. We want to help them developping themselves and reaching their full potential. We also want to sensitize them about humanitay actions.

I already have awareness about the turkish youth, their doubts, their problems and their needs. We developped a relationship of trust and I want to pursue my coaching and support with them by going further. As I am graduated in Human Resources, my dream is to create on day my own NGO to help youth to find their way, define their education, find opportunities abroad, define their career plan, coach them for job research (...) so this project is a big step also for me to reach my goal in the future.

I wish I can get the support I need to realize this project!

=> My first week in turkey, soup service to poor people, mainly refugees.

=> English speaking class with students from visually impaired school. Their first question: can you describe yourself? Make sense yes :)

=> Handicraft activities that will be sold in school to collecte money for various campaigns.

=> Result of my great work :)

Turkey is a country with a high potential, full of young people. They have the ooportunity to join european programs and european youth can also participate to projects / study in Turkey. Unfortunately, those various program are not well-known in Turkey that could boost their employability in the future and open their mind. Their education system is not yet internationally oriented.

My role will be to listen oung poeple, develop their potential, train them on various topic, enhance them to apply to european programs. My Human Resources and Trainer background will allow me to succeed in my missions.

=> Very interesting first aid training.

=> Representation of the Red-Crescent during public events. Here about security on the road.

=> French lessons :)

=> Summer camp. For a lot of children, it was the first time they dance boys and girls. Here a traditional turkish dance: Damat Halayı.

My volunteering will be with the NGO Red-Crescent, full-time. This organsation is very popular in Turkey and help the poeple in many situations.

=> Creative dance workshop. A person told us they couldn't imagine they could dance with their wheelchair. It was heartbreaking to hear that but so gratifiying to see their hapiness.

=> Speaking class in English.

=> Visit of a nursary on the mother day.

=> Project about security on the road.

Where and When?

My volunteering will last 6 months from the 1st of May until the 30th of October 2016. It will take place in Izmir, modern and Europe oriented city.

=> Summer camp. The dance workshop was supposed to be just 1 week but children asked to extend.

=> Creative dance with disabled persons, and a great teacher.

=> Project meetings.

=> Another result from the handicraft workshop.

Allocation of funds

How much?

The Red-Crescent will support me in a big part of the total costs. However, I need to finance other fees not covered by the organisation but essential to be able to live in Izmir and be full-time volunteer (no salary).

Below the repartition of the various costs:

If we exceed the expected amount, it will be an interesting bonus for me and will allow me to cover additional costs and realize additional projects:

- Visit and help other refugee camps in Turkey

- Participate financially in the various donation campaigns of the Red-Crescent

- Suscribe to better health insurance

- Pay my return flight

- Forecast unexpected expenses

I will say personally thank you to every donor. It will be so precious for me as I am very excited about this project! I will be to realize it thanks to you!

The money will be on my own account as I will use it for helping me to live in Izmir.
