Céline Gaille

Lisbon, Portugal

French photographer based in Lisbon, she lived in Paris, Rome and in New York, traveled in East Europe and Russia. In her author’s work, she loves exploring what is old, weird and private. She is curious about what is “through the looking-glass”, so she experiments it relating memory and identity. The boundary between the distant documentary observation and the personal closeness to her subject is very thin, as she considers that the recording of the reality may not be completed without their common awareness. Her literary approach of the photography plays its part in the desire to tell stories. Her art history back ground, her attraction to the other people and other places greatly influence her visual research.
