This documentary will take us throughout several parts of the country, known for its steppes and the lifestyle of its inhabitants.
However today this lifestyle is in complete transformation, half of the Mongolian population lives in cities, Mongolia is modernizing.
This documentary will take us through a journey to discover how the Western world influenced slowly a country with strong traditions. How can a country in deep communion with its environment, in a few years became an open air factory to extract precious rocks from its soil.
This video documentary is initially devoted to the people of Mongolia and especially to the youth which represents the future of the country. I want them to get a message to tackle the new millennium and to enter into modernity without losing the Mongolian identity and its traditions.
The film is going into be in 3 acts.
First of all, we are going to be taken throught the land of Mongolia, the steppes, the mountains, the lakes, the beauties of this country. We will meet some families of nomads, we'll also meet their traditionnal way of life. Their work under the gers and as helders.
Then the film is going to take us to what makes modernization nowadays in Mongolia. We are going to see how Mongolia change its own environment and its own way of living. With some mining companies and the life of Mongolian in the cities.
Finnally we are going travel accross the Mongolian cities and the land to see the consequences of it.
Mongolia is one of the last country where people are still in perfect harmony with nature. From the chinese occupation to the soviet era, these traditions and cultures remain strong. However Mongolia is now confronted to a new step : modernity.
