Big Brothers wants to create an event not just a party. There will be a space featuring several different media, concretely reflecting the artist’s perspective on a commun theme. Our goal is to challenge all of your senses ie. your ears with the DJ sets, your eyes with the VJing, your emotions with the dancers, and the tactile with the visual artists. Throughout our first event, on January 5th we are offering you a unique and unexpected experience. The centerpiece : it will be the video présentation submitted to the artists and their task will be to create something through their particular medium so as to cohabit time and space in a coherent and symbiotic way. The DJ and VJ will intervene intermittently in short 1 – 2 minute interludes throughout the event between 11pm and 6am. Why such short interventions ? So as not to interrupt the audio visual flow. The artists work in progress will be accessible in a space adjoining the main room at all times. Example in the event of a progressive colorization of the room, a VJ set would start in black and white that will evolve according to a chromatic scheme : each colour corresponding to a new interlude. Throughtout the event, the interludes will cumulatively lead up to an up coherent pièce de résistance. As the soirée moves along, some visual art will be revealed in a small space adjoining the main room, punctuating the different stages of the event, every hour. In the main room, each participant is immersed in the work as opposed to the visual room where he is able to get out and get some prospective. The audience will be constantly alternating between a passive and active approach to the same subject matter. We are working in partnership with Glowbi, a virtual space that will allow the Internet surfers following the event in live streaming to share and chat via video conferencing in real time.
