THE PERFORMANCE :
After a gestation period of several months and thanks to the invaluable collaboration of talented and invested artists, set builders and technicians, is following a first residency at the "Soulaires Roundish" in July 2012 that the musical and ambulatory performance "The Laboratory of Ms Sound" was born. A first draft will be presented at "The Science Festival" in October 2012 in Chartres.

It was then presented, among others, at "The light festival" of Chartres and the "International Street Theater Festival of Aurillac" as a “company of passage” in 2014 and 2015, which led several performances then. Indeed, it is an incredible window that brings together many live performing arts professionals and can become a springboard. So far we have worked in self-production. Also, it is important to know that participating in this festival is a huge investment for a small compagny.
Today it is a project that is close to our heart to get back to perform for the celebration of the 30 years of the festival this year from the 17th to 20th August 2016, knowing that we are already selected to participate as “company of passage” (which means being part of the "OFF" program ) with our performance "The laboratory of Ms Sound". Those who follow us from the very begining know how much we invest and work since the creation of "Piano-Panier".
Following the develoment of the company related to the recent hiring of our administrator Claire Delmarle, our goal for this edition is above all to play, and win opportunities to tour in Paris, the provinces and abroad, in order to make this wonderful performance alive, in which we put all our strengths and give all our love to you : the public, who give us so much in return for each performance."
WHAT IS THE LABORATORY OF MS SOUND ?
This is a ambulatory musical performance (6 acts including 3 in motion) built on the basis of a spherical Machine propagating live music played by Ms. Sound (machines, flute, keyboard, clarinet etc... interpreted by Cassandre Girard), and moving through a bicycle pedal system.
It's also a touching clown performance, thanks to the brilliant and so poetic interpretation of Gregoire's character by Manu Charnay. While it's fixed, it is possible to admire a real metal sculpture of almost 4 meters long, largely conducted by Vincent Turbet. This kind of mobile laboratory, sound and mechanized, takes us on an extra-sensory world that knows how to marvel all ages !

WHY THE AURILLAC FESTIVAL ?
Today, the International Festival of Aurillac is the first street theater festival in France (before "Chalon dans la Rue" and "VivaCité"). It is therefore essential for a street art company to be present on the OFF festival. It is for the company an important visibility location that allows to meet the public, programmers and institutionals. It is therefore an essential way to develop its distribution, to bring to life its performance and its company.
Get to perform at Aurillac OFF festival is a great opportunity to meet professionals and show our work by offering it to a wider audience. But it requires a lot of preparation time, energy and money upstream to perform there in good conditions, that will determine the future! That is why we are asking for your support to help us embark on this human and artistic adventure.
Open wide your ears
Ms Sound is coming !
"Assisted by her acolyte Gregoire,
Ms Sound hacks, explores, progresses.
Her trick: the composition. But
not just any : the musical.
The one that makes noise !
And modern, and electrical
also. Constantly producing new
sounds the project is : listenin !
So they wander, roaming
the worlds, comfortably
installed in their magic laboratory !"

THE STAGING :
"... At nightfall, in a street on earth comes from who knows where a strange machine. Between the spaceship of an ingenious engineer and the pierced case of the Little Prince: the mysterious appearance is welcomed, surrounded, source of curiosity and amazement for earthlings.
Visibly out of power, the strange ship stops and engages in an unlikely dynamic captation on humans. Then the magic happens, science maybe and machinery begins to emit some sounds : sound ship, perhaps Sonic, moves forward, inviting to see its technical innards made of cables, monitoring, screens controls, various pedals, commands of all kinds ; one huge bubble walking an exhilarating musical universe ..."
From "Local Chronicle" written by Eric Maumoura following our performance on the 17th of May 2015 in Nogent-le-Roi (28). With our gratitude.
NOTE OF INTENT FROM THE ARTISTS
Which sound for Ms Sound ?
"For" The laboratory of Ms Sound ", I have chosen to work free from habitual patterns of creation, where the musical composition usually comes in second place, once the images are there. My purpose here is to make music real engine of history.
As a composer, I recorded a mix of sounds and atmospheres that I used as a base for my music. Reprocessed through a computer and software, I superpose , as a musician this time, various instrumental pitches that I play "live" during the performance. From acoustic to electronic, monitored by a quality sound system, my music is intended to be contemporary, nuanced and surprising by its language. Such as proposals in the form of a "sound palette", my sound environments are varied, in order to keep the audience awake.
Through the eye of the laboratory, I dream of guiding each one to his imagination.
Cassandre Girard, Musician composer
The Machine !
"To begin with, our" Ms Sound Laboratory "is a sphere. The round shape is for me the more appropriate to convey the emotion transmitted by the kind of music Cassandra Girard makes us hear. Unlike the movie, it's the music that tells the story while the movement, first narrator in the 7th Art, becomes the vehicle in the form of a ball. The movement ... let's talk about it! To achieve this ambulatory structure, I used mechanics. Moreover, the entire sphere is made as a machine with its metal structure, repartition of forces, its wheelwork ...
Finally, I wish to present an appealing object that will be the testimony of a lot of time spent, sensitivity and attention in the development."
Vincent Turbet, designer and builder of the lab
THE CREATIVE TEAM :
Cassandre Girard, musician and composer, "Ms Sound" in the performance :
Musician (flute, clarinet, voice ...) and composer who first studied classical music she evolves today in several areas such as theater, music or the visual world. She started the association "Piano-Panier" that she created with Vincent Turbet.
Fascinated by the mix of styles, she obtained her "Certificate of Modern Music Musician Interpreter" and then follows the course of Aubervilliers Jazz National Conservatory of the region, at Courneuve (93) while earning a certification "Apple" issued for the famous software Computer-Assisted Music "Logic studio Pro" that she uses live via "Main Stage" at her shows.
Vincent Turbet, designer and builder of the Lab :
Graduated of a professional baccalaureate stonecutter, now designer of stages for performances and events thanks to a training during which he learned wood and metal working, he designed scenographies for street theater companies.
Meanwhile, he has continued to practice sculpture and painting, eternal poetic journey through the material that leads him to unsuspected landscapes.
Manu Charnay, technical assistance and acting, "Gregoire" in the performance :
He started at 18 years with the company "Oposito" as an assistant to Eniriquez Jiménez, visual artist scenographer. He learned construction, stage management, management teams, ... but also a vision, perception and artistic interpretation. Meanwhile, he co-founded the Cie "La cité des ménestrels," in which he plays as an actor; then in 2009, winner of "youth challenge", he launched "Le Fer à Coudre".
Today he divides his time between construction and development of his acting.
Manon Gesbert, costume designer :
After attending an education fashion design at "Duperré" school, it is finally through the costume that Manon Gesbert finds his way. During two years at the school "La Source" of Nogent-sur-Marne, she addresses different specialties : corsetry, tailor, or "structures through the history of costume". She then worked on various projects creations (children's shows, musical theater and street theater) while working in parallel in various workshops such as "Opera Bastille", "the French Comedy", or flying workshops for film ("Jeanne Captive" by Philippe Ramos, "Beauty and the Beast" by Christophe Gans, "My Loute" Bruno Dumont). She seeks to diversify her know-how and learns metalwork, latex, leather, to enrich her creations.
Brice Beaugier, stage director :
Actor since 1982, from a training body (circus school and mime), Brice Beaugier then he learned theater in various courses including that of Jean-Louis Martin Barbaz. He works since then for the National Drama Centres and National Stages, and with many companies.
His path, that goes from circus to mime, masks to clown, dance to music, has allowed him to meet many directors and himself signed many stagings.
He completed his training by obtaining a university degree "DETS" at the University of Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle - Dramaturgy Option - Set design - Directed.
Sara Isambert, clown, outside view :
Sara was formed in clown by "The samovar" which she left in 2015 and other educationalists such as Eric Blouet. She acts as clowne with her performances in different festivals and among Parisian alternative scenes. Fascinated by the emotional power of the clown, she attempts through this art to touch the universality of our wildest designs, our innermost feelings and emotions.
