Behind Les Inseparables are two textile designers, Eve Hourregue and Magali Londot. We met in school, first at the Universite de Toulouse and then at La Cambre Visual Arts School in Brussels. Since then, we have been making our dreams come true: we created the knitted accessories line Les Inseparables “100% made in Belgium with love” and brought together our passions for beautiful high quality matierials, beautiful accessories and beautiful craftsmanship.
Things weren’t always the way they are now: we started out working in Grandma’s attic for long months, with our manual knitting machines. We created our first collection of socks, entirely sold and supported by friends and friends of friends… that was in 2008!
We were rapidly faced with an ethical decision: we knew we wanted to produce beautiful objects but how and where they were produced also mattered to us. We decided to support local industries and craftsmanship and began collaborating with a knit industry in 2009!
Quite some times has gone by and today, not only are we able to realize our dreams but we can also share them: our collections are highly appreciated and we have sales points all around the world – from Brussels to Paris, London, Toronto and Shanghai.
With help from our wonderful collaborators and co-workers we are now able to face the multifaceted challenges of our dreams and profession.
But to keep on going we are going to need some help, and this is where we hope you will come in! Our project has been blooming and growing for these past few years, but we need to give it a good push to strengthen the foundations we have, and most of all to really take off and be sustainable. This year we will need to travel a lot so we can commercially promote our project and products. Also, marketing aspects of our project will need to be developed with a promotional event for our 2013-2014 winter collection.
We have 45 days to make it all happen!! Let’s do it together ! Let’s go! Yes, we knit!
