Photos, reportages, interviews, support Lucarne Opposée, live the 44th Copa América and discover the history of chilean football

The project

Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Columbia, Ecuador, and Uruguay: all of these countries have left their own legacy at the last World Cup in 2014. From Leo Messi to James Rodriguez, and also Neymar, Edinson Cavani, Alexis Sanchez and the revelation Enner Valencia, they will all be present in Chile for the 44th edition of the Copa America. In June, they will face the Mexican sensation but also the new Peruvian and Paraguayan generations.

Followed by more than 4 billion people in 185 countries, the Copa America remains however largely unreported and unknown in France. Throughout a 100% original content, the project so-called « Lucarne Opposée – Chile 2015 » aims to fill this gap and use the competition to take its readers in total immersion within the culture of one of the greatest nations of football on the continent.

The project is followed-up by three freelance writers. Nicolas Cougot is chief editor of Lucarne Opposée, the place to be in terms of South-American football. Nicolas Faure is a journalist for Perform Group, dedicated to European and South-American football, he covers many broadcasts (in French and/or in Spanish) for various media groups. Bastien Poupat is a writer for Lucarne Opposée. He is based in Buenos Aires and goes around the different stadiums of the country and the continent to provide an inner-version of South-American football.

What does the project consist of?

The project is divided in two independent and complementary parts.

The first part rimes with live events. From the stands close to the stadiums, we will meet supporters before and during the games to follow the competition by their side. From the stadium, we will monitor the proceedings of the Copa America on a daily-basis and gather the thoughts of the stakeholders. Through pictures, videos, pre and postgame interviews, we will provide our readers with a total immersion within the 44th Chilean edition. Between the games, there is no way we will wait patiently at the hotel. For the second part of our project, we will go back and forth Chile to discover its football and its history (several stages are already mentioned in our roadmap). From the discovery of its greatest clubs, in research of its pioneers, to the transition between democracy and dictatorship and its impact on local football, we will go looking for local actors, witnesses of those days. Therefore, we will enable our readers to better understand how the grand history and football are intimately linked and influence each other.

« Lucarne Opposée – Chile 2015 » will present a multi-facetted offer mixing audio and video content, photo coverage and more traditional written content. A comprehensive multimedia site in order to provide the best immersion possible to our readers for the greatest South-American competition.

Why fund it?

To offer you the best of the competition and steep yourself in Chile’s history, we need your help. Our needs are:
