Come celebrate creativity by helping us to realize this project, a collaboration of over 80 artists!
MANUEL PARADE is an art book bringing together designers from different disciplines around a common theme: the « Parade »
- 36 artists and jewelry designers have been associated in pairs to create two brand new visuals especially for this issue.
- 15 critics, journalists, philosophers have responded to the theme through poems, essays, stories…
- Through an open call 20 artists have been selected.
More than a beautiful art book, this edition will be the reflection of a burgeoning scene of talented emerging designers - writers, artists, jewelry designers, graphic artists, curators - gathered in a festive and flamboyant way around a simple concept with multiple echoes. Suggestive of seduction, of assembly, of celebration and joy of life, creation and freedom.
Parade will make communicate the contributions of these numerous contributors throughout its 80 pages.
Vincent Romagny, resident of Villa Kujoyama in 2015, makes us the honor of writing the preface and the graphics are entrusted to the talented Lionel Catelan. The edition is limited to 500 perfect bound books and sewn to size 24 x 32 cm surrounded by an elegant silk-screened cover.
THE CONTENTS MORE DETAILED ...
Artists and jewelers: Inspired by notions of love games and seduction, MANUEL played matchmaker and contacted 18 jewelry designers and 18 artists to form original creative couples. Each pair took time to discover each other to give birth to two visual, fed from the own universe each member has.
Authors: Different pens were invited to take part into our Parade treating in their own way one of the themes associated with this new issue. Whether it's a news, a story, poem or their own history, the important thing was to give each author the freedom to express their creative writing individual approach, original and subjective. Distributed in the book without apparent logical order, the texts will resonate with the visual productions.
The open-call: to stay loyal with its commitment we open participation to all, the collective MANUEL once again issued a call to free application which was answered by a hundred participants from different backgrounds. After a first selection made on the collective's website, twenty of them were selected to join the pages of the book.
Parade is more than a fanzine or a collection of images. This is an ambitious book of art that reflects the desire of the authors to blur the boundaries between often isolated artistic practices. Since the first brainstorming until this campaign with you, three years of passionate work were needed to mobilize and coordinate over 80 contributors.
By mixing the universe and visions, it is a unique multidisciplinary approach that has been valued for converging singular glances around the same subject. In the end, the gathered proposals not only reflect the great variety of interpretations offered by Parade but especially the amazing creative richness allowed by the meeting between multiple talents.
In continuation of the MANUEL action for over four years, Parade is involve with the young actors of the art scene. It reaffirms the collective will to enable emerging artists to benefit from first publication and a first exposure, thereby enhancing their work to professionals and general audience.
Attached since its inception in collaborative values, financial independence and voluntary commitment to the opening of contemporary art to a wide and varied audience, the collective MANUEL seeks today the active participation of all.
By participating in the financing Parade, you have the opportunity to acquire a rare and unique object that will long as a snapshot; one of a set of representative players of the creative energy of our time.
