Ils contribuent à la dimension artistique et intellectuelle au sein de la foire <strong>AKAA.</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> Conférences, performances, projections, conversations et expositions, le <strong>PARCOURS CULTUREL</strong> de <strong>AKAA</strong> est d’abord articulé autour des <strong>Rencontres AKAA</strong>, qui auront lieu dans l'auditorium du Carreau du Temple. S’ajouteront à cela, les <strong>Espaces Non Profit</strong> : une <strong><i>Exposition Design</i></strong>, mettant en lumière le design africain, et un <em><strong>Espace LagosPhoto</strong>, </em>exposition photographique en collaboration avec le LagosPhoto Festival (Nigéria). </p> <p>  </p> <p> Il est important pour <strong>AKAA</strong>, de ne pas être seulement une foire commerciale, mais avant tout un lieu de rencontres, de découvertes et de réflexions. C'est au travers des <strong>Rencontres AKAA</strong> et des <strong>Espaces Non Profits</strong> que le public pourra découvrir et prendre part aux questionnements qui sont au coeur des enjeux artistiques d'une Afrique plurielle. Un challenge audacieux porté par l'intérêt grandissant des professionnels et de la presse française et internationale.  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>AKAA</strong> souhaite représenter la richesse et la diversité de l’art contemporain d’Afrique. Le monde du design africain d’aujourd’hui foisonne de jeunes designers talentueux. Néanmoins, beaucoup de ces designers et de leurs créations ne sont pas représentés en galerie. Ils ne disposent donc pas d’interface leur offrant une visibilité sur la scène artistique internationale. Il était important pour <strong>AKAA</strong> de présenter ces jeunes designers autour d’une exposition centrée et les mettant en valeur.  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <em>Hicham Lalhou, </em>designer et fondateur des Africa Design Days et <em>Aaron Kohn</em>, directeur du Musée du Design Africain (MOAD) de Johannesburg assureront le co-commissariat de l’exposition : <em><strong>The (Un)usual Suspects</strong></em>. A travers cette large collaboration Nord-Sud, il s’agira de présenter pour la première fois en France ces nouveaux designers africains dans une exposition inédite. </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>    </p> <p> <strong>III. Son héritage transcende la musique et traverse la mode, l’identité, la politique, les idéologies post-coloniales et l’opposition radicale à l’autorité. Son héritage est évident dans le hip-hop contemporain, appelé de façon erronée Afrobeats. Ce style musical est probablement la plus grande exportation nigériane – du moins sur le continent africain.</p> <p>  </p> <p> L’exposition explorera le portrait et le design à travers les couvertures d’albums hautement stylisées créées pour promouvoir l’image et modeler l’identité des musiciens nigérians contemporains. </p> <p>  </p> <p> Le LagosPhoto Festival, créé depuis 2010 met à l’honneur la photographie contemporaine africaine chaque année à Lagos pendant un mois. Seul et unique festival de photographie au Nigéria, <strong>AKAA</strong> a décidé de donner une visibilité particulière à ce festival africain en France autour d’un évènement non commercial.  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>      <img alt="Sans_titre-8-1443177750" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/235230/Sans_titre-8-1443177750.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> Deux directeurs artistiques proposent le <strong>PARCOURS CULTUREL</strong> de <strong>AKAA</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p>                                                 <img alt="-2-1444209624" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/239002/-2-1444209624.jpg"></p> <p> <strong>            Salimata Diop</strong>, direction artistique des <strong>Rencontres AKAA    </strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> Salimata Diop est une commissaire d’exposition sénégalaise résidant à Londres. Elle a supervisé des expositions au Sénégal, en France et au Royaume Uni, par exemple : <i>53 Echoes of Zaire</i>, (Mai 2015, Londres), <i>UNIVERS/UNIVERSE</i> and <i>GRAIN DE FOLIE </i>(Mai 2014, Dakar, Saint-Louis) <i>XEET</i> à 50Goldborne gallery (Octobre 2015 Londres). Ses articles ont été publiés dans des revues d’art telles que IAM  –Intense Art Magazine-et elle a contribué à divers catalogues d’exposition et documentaires TV, comme  publications sur l’art ainsi que des documentaires, comme <i>African Masters</i> (documentaire en 6 episodes pour ‘The Africa Channel’, 2012-2013). Salimata enseigne ‘l’évolution du marché pour l’art africain en Afrique’ dans le Master ‘History and Business of the Contemporary Art Market’ pour l’IESA –Paris- et l’Université de Warwick. Il est directeur artistique d'APPARTEMENT, directeur du Prix ORISHA pour l'art contemporain africain. Il a été rédacteur en chef invité d'ANNUAL N°5 (2012 - 2013) et directeur du département art contemporain de PIASA (2014-2015).
 
 Il est directeur de publications, correspondant permanent pour FLASH ART et contribue à de nombreuses revues. Il enseigne l'histoire des expositions et le commissariat d'exposition à l'ICART (Institut supérieur des Carrières Artistiques) et à l'IESA (Institut d'Etudes Supérieures d'Art). 
Il est membre de l'AICA (Association Internationale des Critiques d'Art),

Special Project: Design Space - <em>The (un)usual Suspect</em> </strong></p> <p> <em>An exhibition dedicated to the world of contemporary African design </em></p> <p>  </p> <p> Today, the world of contemporary African design is vibrant, overflowing with gifted young designers. However, many of these designers and their creations are not represented in galleries, and so they don't have access to show their work to an international audience. <strong>AKAA </strong>places great importance on giving these young designers the opportunity to exhibit their talents, and The Design Space will allow them to do that.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <em>Hicham Lalhou, </em>designer and founder of the Africa Design Days in Casablanca, and <em>Aaron Kohn, </em>Director of the Museum of African Design (MOAD) in Johannesburg, are co-curators of the exhibition. She is one of the editors of IAM (Intense Art Magazine) and a frequent contributor to other artistic publications. Salimata holds an M.Litt from the University of Paris I /Sorbonne, and an MA in the History and Business of the Contemporary Art Market from IESA/University of Warwick (UK). She has been teaching at Warwick since 2012. In 2013 Salimata Diop and Liz Lydiate initiated an intensive course centered on the African contemporary art market. He is artistic director of APPARTEMENT and director of the ORISHA prize for African contemporary art. He was guest editor-in-chief of ANNUAL No.5 (2012-2013) and director of the contemporary art department of PIASA (2014-2015). He is publications director and staff correspondent for FLASH ART and a contributor to many revues. He teaches the history of exhibitions and curating at ICART and at IESA.</p> <p>  </p>
