Borneo Inspection Expedition
Borneo Inspection Expedition
Who is Photofarm?
Who are the actors?
Photofarm is a team of photographers, journalists, teachers, communicators active in the preservation of nature and animals. Through education we teach the approach to nature photography and ethics toward the environment.Since the 2004, the team published in leading magazines in the travel industry and nature.
Photofarm is the promoter of the document "COMMUNICATION ETHICS OF NATURE" which stems from the different communicators, photographers and filmmakers to create a modus operandi of ethics that can refer to the above activities, carried out as a profession or as an amateur practice, in terms of the environment. In a world increasingly dependent on the actions and reactions dictated by an economic model no longer bearable by the ecosystem of the planet, comes the need to draft a document shared by all those who hear loud and clear the need to disseminate a new environmental culture .In the context of naturalistic communication, the team became aware of the environmental problems in Indonesian Borneo, has decided to start and implement a major new project.
Why the project "Borneo Inspection Expedition "
Because in this corner of the planet constantly advancing deforestation is destroying the habitat of many animal species, including the orangutan (orang utan). In place of the forest are planted large plantations of palm oil, thereby reversing a precious ecosystem that has ensured the survival of local populations now jeopardized by the lobbies of exploitation of timber and forest resources.More and more in the world of globalization we have to think that forests are a precious common good, especially for those who come after us. We can not escape from this liability, in fact, our choices will affect the future of the next generations.
Our mission is to initiate a survey, independently, to collect photographs and film on the conservation status of Indonesian Borneo. From the results obtained it will involve industry associations to initiate concrete actions for the preservation and conservation, through conferences, crowdfunding, publications, interactive books, websites, social media.
