Hungary represents the first part of this journey. In 2002, I published a CD that reflects my intense compositional impressions of this country. All of the songs were lyrically recorded and interpreted by native musicians.

After Hungary, I turned to Spain, more specifically to Andalusia; Vienna was my next stop, followed by the Prague of the 1920s. Currently, in the year 2014, my musical journey through Europe has led me to France.

Of course this unique country also has its unique timbre, its vibrations, and its distinctive melodic and harmonious specificities. My music is intended to express these multifaceted bouquets the way I see them.

I am particularly lucky with the exceptional artists I have on board for this project. Claire Tudela and Claire Parizot who could be won as singers both combine subtlety with energetic vitality in an all natural way without ever being pretentious.

The violinist, Angelika Moskal, is an Austrian musician with an exceptional artistic spirit. Sporadically, I deployed an accordion which is played by Janina Schedy.

Along with these excellent musicians it was an easy task to musically interpret the selected poems by Louise Labé, Gérard de Nerval, Verlaine and Rimbaud, but also contemporary lyrics like René Char or Louise de Vilmorin.

The project ‚on the curiosity of silence‘ presents a curious journey to a musical, French state of mind through time and space.

                                                                                Alfred Polansky

Claire Tudela

born in France in 1984. Claire enjoyed her music and theater education in Paris, the United States, and Austria. She received a diploma from the International Academy of Performing Arts (Versailles) directed by Carlo Boso. Claire continues her education, a.o. with Maya Hakvoort, Ute Lemper, Paul Wimberger. Since 2010 she has been touring France with the ‘Fracas d’Art’ company as Hermia in Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’. Recently, she appeared in different productions in France and abroad (Paris, Vienna, Berlin, Bergamo etc).

www.clairetudela.com

Claire Parizot

born in Paris. Claire Parizot has been an opera singer for the past 15 years. After graduating from Sorbonne University where she majored in Italian, she started her singing and performance education in Paris (Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Maurice Ravel Conservatory) which she continued in Vienna (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna). She has had stage presence with recitals, concerts and operas in Austria and France. She will be appearing as Ännchen in the ‘Freischütz’ on January 25 with the Pressbaum orchestra around Vienna.

‘Thanks to this project I have had the chance to discover a new voice of mine that I had not known before. The intimate atmosphere created by Alfred Polansky’s compositions has helped me to enter into a new universe where text, voice and instruments are melting even stronger than in the realm of the opera. The recording of this CD was a marvelous gift and I would like to share this wonderful experience with as many people as possible.’

www.claireparizot.com

Angelika Moskal

born in Vienna. Various concerts in Austria and abroad, solo, chamber music, and the ’Webern Symphony Orchestra’ 2012/2013 concert tours led her to Spain, Montenegro, USA, Germany, and Bulgaria.

Janina Schedy

is a Francophile Austrian accordion player.
