Du Street art au Tour d'Europe à la voile en 80 jours

The "Street Art at Sea" project was born from the meeting of our two lively passions. Romain is skipper of a Mini 6,50m sailboat, and prepares a Tour of Europe in 80 days with the objective of participating in the Mini Transat in 2025. Kó is a stencil artist, and for the past two years he has been posing portraits, often of "Invisibles" in the streets of Paris. Always looking for bold projects. Boldness, we have it! Our backgrounds are different, but this common trait of "audacity and challenge" animates us. What we have in common is that we give importance to encounters, those that give rise to desires, wishes, and projects. Those encounters that make us move forward, that make us grow. Very quickly, we had the idea of creating two frescoes (12m2) on the hull of Romain's boat and the designs were made. For this skipper of Greek origin, driven by his passion for the sea, it was natural to be accompanied by great mythological figures: Aeolus and Poseidon. Kó proposes the two figures bathed in waves of elements: - The port side (left side) will feature the god Aeolus, facetious, causing a surge of elements, pushing the boat. - The starboard (right side) will represent the god Poseidon and his trident, nimbed in the waves, under a glowing sky. This project is one of the first in the world of ocean racing because it will be done with a stencil and a spray can! Usually, the racing boats use stickers to facilitate the change of sponsors. This is a real technical challenge: - Cleaning and degreasing of the boat hull, repairing with mastic and gelcoat the " pokes " of the boat, - Preparing and protecting the hull with two coats of 2K marine epoxy primer, - Two coats of two-component aerosol finishing paint (2k) (divided into two ranges of ochre and blue-green, i.e. 15 shades), - Two coats of 2K marine varnish. These two frescoes are made to last and have the objective to be present at the start of the Mini Transat in 2025.
