Easter 2016 will mark the <strong>centenary</strong> of his birth.          </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> We are planning a festival in his honour in the beautiful castle of <em>Ville d'Avray</em>,<em> France </em>(between Paris and Versailles), where he was named an <strong>honorary citizen</strong> after having lived there from 1930 to 1935.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Imgp0741-1435001941" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/212615/IMGP0741-1435001941.JPG"></p> <p>  </p> <p> The festival will combine three days - <strong>March 26, 27, 28 2016</strong> - of <strong>chamber music concerts, masterclasses</strong>, documentary screenings (including <strong>Bruno Monsaingeon</strong>'s) and an <strong>exhibition</strong> in cooperation with the <em>Yehudi Menuhin Foundation</em> in Brussels.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Menuhin, as a young prodigy, built his career through <strong>excellence </strong><strong>and passion</strong>. Similarly, this innovative project targets <strong>outstanding artists who are under 30 years old </strong>and who are well- established on the international scene. The objective is to offer an high quality music experience, in a convivial environment that will allow rich human exchanges.  </p>

Allocation of funds

<p> The main goal of this festival is to bring the <strong>public closer to classical music and to the artists</strong>. We believe in the <strong>charisma </strong>and <strong>brilliance </strong>of young artists, therefore we are going to bring together some of the most outstanding soloists of this generation:  </p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Dsc_2667-1434978111" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/212457/DSC_2667-1434978111.JPG"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2F0bcHnSKK1jo%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D0bcHnSKK1jo&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2F0bcHnSKK1jo%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Alexandra Conunova, violinist :</strong> <a href="http://conunova.com/" target="_blank">http://www.conunova.com/</a></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Marcbouchkov-credits-nikolajlund-384x290-1435002187" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/212617/MarcBouchkov-credits-NikolajLund-384x290-1435002187.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2F8AuxiMKkcKM%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D8AuxiMKkcKM&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2F8AuxiMKkcKM%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Marc Bouchkov, violonist : </strong> <a href="http://www.bouchkov.com/" target="_blank">http://www.bouchkov.com/</a></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Boisseau-1435018764" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/212685/boisseau-1435018764.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2Fr2jY4F8nY_c%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dr2jY4F8nY_c&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2Fr2jY4F8nY_c%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Adrien Boisseau, violist :</strong></p> <p> <a href="http://www.classic360.fr/en/Artist-Management/Adrien-Boisseau/1.htm" target="_blank">http://www.classic360.fr/en/Artist-Management/Adrien-Boisseau/1.htm</a></p> <p> <img alt="5-1435002241" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/212619/5-1435002241.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="304" src="//cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2FNASyo9Wl7GI%3Fwmode%3Dopaque%26feature%3Doembed&amp;wmode=opaque&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DNASyo9Wl7GI%26feature%3Dyoutu.be&amp;image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2FNASyo9Wl7GI%2Fhqdefault.jpg&amp;key=ff2702755d9749cda571c6d6c2f3eb46&amp;type=text%2Fhtml&amp;schema=youtube" width="540"></iframe></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Ildiko Szabo, cellist :</strong> <a href="http://www.ildikoszabo.com/" target="_blank">http://www.ildikoszabo.com/</a></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> We aim to be <strong>inclusive and informal</strong>. There will be no dress code or other potentially deterring formalities. <strong>Breaking with tradition</strong>, musicians will greet the public at the beginning of each concert in order to establish <strong>communication</strong> and give some background on the pieces. </p> <p>  </p> <p> The festival will take place in the Château Thierry (also known as Château de Ville d’Avray), built in 1776. It was splendidly renovated two years ago and can accommodate up to 120 people. The fully wooden concert room has a <strong>beautiful </strong><strong>acoustic </strong>and a lovely view on the castle’s gardens. It is of an ideal size to accommodate a medium-sized audience while offering an <strong>intimate atmosphere</strong>, so cherished by musicians. </p> <p>  </p> <p> In cooperation with the Town hall of Ville d'Avray,  the performers accomodation will be organized in local families. Not only in order to control the expenses but to create links and exchanges as well.</p> <p>  </p> <p> To honour Yehudi Menuhin’s commitment to education, we will organise masterclasses with students of the region's conservatories.</p> <p>  </p> <p> The small green city provides <strong>movie theater and exhibition </strong>spaces as well. Ville d'Avray has a long artistic tradition, in relation with illustrious residents besides Menuhin: Jean-Baptiste Corot who painted a lot around the ponds, Jean Rostand, Boris Vian... </p> <p>  </p> <p> If your donations exceed the needed amount: we have a side-project to develop!  Around 1980 Yehudi Menuhin wrote with Christopher Hope a tale for children "The King, the cat and the violin", illustrations by Angela Barrett (Gallimard Editions). We plan to use this medium as a basis for a <strong>cultural initiative in local schools</strong>. The aim will be to make young children sensitive to violin and string instruments. Small size instruments would be involved; <strong>Vatelot</strong>, the renowned luthier in Paris, is among the patrons of our Festival.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <u>Expenses : </u></p> <p>  </p> <p> Website, graphist 500</p> <p> Printing, posters, brochures 1000</p> <p> Advertising press 5000</p> <p> Piano tuning 300</p> <p> Artists 7600</p> <p> Costs of travels 500</p> <p> Rights for the movies 400</p> <p>  </p> <p> =15300</p> <p>  </p> <p> <u>Takings : </u></p> <p>  </p> <p> Tickets 2000</p> <p> ACVA 5500</p> <p> Town 800</p> <p> Civil societies 1000</p> <p> Luthiers 1000</p> <p> Sponsors 2000</p> <p> KKBB 3000</p> <p>  </p> <p> =15300</p>
