FRAMIX - "STUCK IN A CRUEL WORLD" by FADEREIGHT FILMS

Bonjour à tous, chers KissBankers,    Nous tenons à vous informer, pour ceux qui n'auraient pas vu passer la news sur FACEBOOK et autres réseaux sociaux, que le film est enfin disponible en visionnage gratuit sur internet, en version originale sous-titrée français, sur la page suivante:    <a href="http://framix.fr/stuck-in-a-cruel-world-le-film" target="_blank">http://framix.fr/stuck-in-a-cruel-world-le-film</a>   N'hésitez pas à partager ce lien et à montrer le film autour de vous.   Avant de le diffuser de cette manière, nous avons voulu essayer de le faire vivre sur d'autres réseaux et notamment en le présentant, sur plus d'un an à partir du moment où nous avons sorti les premiers masters, sur le circuit des festivals de films. Une sélection en festival aurait potentiellement pu permettre au film d'être vu en salle de cinéma, mais aussi de trouver un autre public et peut-être un diffuseur s'il avait remporté un prix ou même rencontré l'intérêt d'une chaîne de télévision. Nous l'avons donc inscrit à de nombreux festivals, en France, mais aussi en Europe et à l'international, malheureusement, sans succès. Le format hybride du film, entre clip musical et court-métrage y est certainement pour quelque chose, les sélections des festivals reposant à la fois sur des critères très cadrés, avec parfois des thèmes à respecter. Nous avons cependant eu de bons retours de la plupart des personnes qui ont pu le visionner.    Pour information, une projection devrait aussi se faire à Paris à la fin du mois de mai pour ceux qui n'auraient pas pu venir aux projections nantaises. Chers Kissbankers,    Arrivés au terme de notre mission sur le film "Stuck in a Cruel World", il est désormais temps de diffuser notre film le plus largement possible.   Après une soirée d'avant-première plus que réussie le 18 janvier dernier au Lieu Unique à Nantes, nous avons décidé de vous offrir 2 autres projections du film. L'une aura donc lieu à Nantes, le 21 février prochain pour les nantais qui n'auraient pas pu se déplacer lors de la soirée au Lieu Unique:  <a href="http://" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/events/684215828297339/</a> Si vous voulez d'ailleurs partager un petit apéro avec nous, nous vous proposons de venir un peu avant l'heure de la projection prévue pour 20h30, soit vers 19h.    L'autre projection aura lieu à Paris, le 7 mars. Elle est encore en préparation et nous vous donnerons toutes les infos au plus vite, mais elle devrait se dérouler au pied de la Butte Montmartre, dans le 18ème arrondissement.    D'ici là, nous vous aurons envoyé vos dons. Nous sommes actuellement en train de préparer les envois. Bonsoir à tous, Chers et Chères Kissbankers,   Nous sommes très heureux et soulagés de pouvoir vous annoncer que le projet "Stuck In a Cruel World" est enfin arrivé à son terme. Suite à la dernière actualité que nous vous avons envoyé il y a de cela 10 jours, nous avons pu faire une ultime vérification du film étalonné le 13 janvier et après quelques petits fignolages de dernière minute, nous avons pu sortir les premiers masters du film le 15 janvier. Nous avons ainsi pu boucler le projet de DVD durant la semaine dernière et l'envoyer en pressage vendredi, le 17 janvier.  Le délai de fabrication est estimé à une dizaine de jours. Nous vous tiendrons informés de l'arrivée de ceux-ci et donc du début des envois de vos dons que vous devez être impatients de recevoir! ;)    Nous avons également reçu les affiches et flyers qui nous permettrons d'assurer la promotion du film pour les festivals, la presse et les projections éventuelles.    <img alt="Framix_siacw_affiche" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/62095/FRAMIX_SIACW_AFFICHE.jpg" />   <img alt="Framix_siacw_postcard" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/62096/FRAMIX_SIACW_POSTCARD.jpg" />   Nous avons d'ailleurs également commencé, la semaine passée, à soumettre le film à des festivals de court-métrages, dont une première inscription au 60ème Festival International du Court-Métrage d'Oberhausen en Allemagne en catégorie Compétiton Internationale. Nous comptons ainsi donner une première vie au film, une première visibilité, en l'inscrivant au plus grand nombre de festivals possible en France, mais aussi à l'étranger. Le fait d'avoir tourné en langue anglaise devrait nous ouvrir d'autant plus de portes sur les festivals étrangers.    Comme prévu, l'avant-première de "Stuck in a Cruel World" a bien eu lieu samedi soir dernier, le 18 janvier 2014, au Lieu Unique à Nantes. Devant une salle comble, les quelques privilégiés présents ont pu découvrir le film de 21mn dans des conditions idéales, c'est-à-dire en intérieur et au chaud alors que le "temps nantais" sévissait dehors. C'est assis et avec une projection de qualité, avec un rendu audio impeccable et une image très fidèle à la colorimétrie et aux effets que nous avons passé tant de temps à peaufiner, qu'ils ont pu découvrir le résultat de ces presque 2 ans de travail.    <img alt="Framix_siacw_avp_01" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/62097/FRAMIX_SIACW_AVP_01.jpg" />   <img alt="Framix_siacw_avp_02" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/62098/FRAMIX_SIACW_AVP_02.jpg" />   La soirée s'est prolongée jusqu'à une heure tardive après la projection avec un mix de sons 50's orchestré par FRAMIX lui-même, accompagné par <a href="http://www.wtm-paris.com/art_phoneme.html" target="_blank">Phonème</a>, le DJ résident du Lieu Unique. Une soirée très réussie et conviviale en compagnie d'une partie de l'équipe du film, qui aura donnée envie à énormement de monde de danser, de s'essayer à quelques pas "vintage" et de faire un retour aux sources, en ces temps d'obsession électronique dans les lieux culturels et musicaux nantais.    Merci encore à tous ceux qui étaient présents à cette soirée d'avant-première et évidemment encore merci à tous pour votre contribution à ce projet ambitieux, qui nous l'espérons vous fera glisser quelques instants dans les 50's et son bonheur illusoire, dans un monde pas si différent du notre finalement...   A très bientôt.    David et François.

The summer has been really intense on our side, but we've made some major progress, thanks to you and your contributions.</div> <div>  </div> <div> Being aware of our difficulties to keep our schedule regarding how big of a challenge this project has been and the different levels of commitment people could put into it, we preferred not to communicate too much without having enough significant infos to give you.</div> <div>  </div> <div> So, we'd like you to now that we now have reached the end of this production:</div> <div>  </div> <div> -We managed to finish the necessary special effects for the film during the months of july, august and september, thanks to the amazing work of our two VFX specialists: Aurélien Migaud and Alix Bossard. CANDY is played by Pauline Bataille and BILLY is played by Anthony Boudard. None of them is a comedian or an actor, they are just 2 young people we know, that would just fit perfectly to what we were looking for physically and mentally. Anthony Boudard comes from skateboarding and already knows a bit of fame as a skateboarder: <a href="https://vimeo.com/17383760" target="_blank">https://vimeo.com/17383760</a>   Pauline and Anthony have been rehearsing their roles with François. They've had to learn their dialogues in english, although Anthony didn't really know how to speak, to be able to act in playback, an extra challenge when it came to shoot the film.  The dialogues between Candy and Billy actually correspond to 2 tracks of FRAMIX's album, "Stuck in a Cruel World", that are interludes, so the dialogues were already recorded before the shooting of this movie.    <img alt="Img_2803" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/18909/IMG_2803.JPG" />     For the costumes, having no stylist, we've had to make researches and rummage through frippery and second-hand stores, attics and other dark places to find out how to dress Candy and Billy and finally found these real vintage pieces.  For Candy and Billy's hairdressings, also not having a real hairdresser / Make-up artist with us all the time, we took a lot of time to fix this before the shooting each day.

<img alt="Multi_cars" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/26272/MULTI_CARS.jpg" />   Here are the miniature cars that have been used to shoot all our scenes in the 4 different models: the valley, the drive-in theater, a small mountain and a parking lot.  We've had to order these in the USA and also have a bit of luck to even find them on the internet, in the scales we needed.   <img alt="Vall_e_clap_car" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/26296/Vall_e_Clap_Car.jpg" />   Each model has been built in a different scale, so we've had to adapt the size of the car and find the right model accordingly, the right color and the right scale...happily, we've started with shooting the real car first! ;) A bit of DIY was required to create this convertible version of the smallest car we had and to be able to reproduce the 2 positions of the real car. So, with patience and priciseness, a scalpel in hand, the ablative procedure could be done! ;)

<img alt="Mano_01" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/25261/Mano_01.jpg" />   So you can realize the scale of the models in which we've been filming and and the size of the subjects to shoot, here is a first glance at one of the cars used in the film and at the drive-in theater's sign crafted by François.    All the scenes shot in models have been shot in macro, which means that the depth of field in each shot was extremely short. This didn't allow any approximation on the framing as well as on the camera moves.  This car corresponds to the smallest scale in which we've been filming, which is a 1/160 scale.   More details to come really soon.
