GRENOBLE INDIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2019 (GIFF)
<p><strong>Indian Cinema Events</strong> presents 3rd edition of the Grenoble Indian Film Festival that will take place this year from 17th to 20th October 2019. The festival is the unique occasion to discover the Indian culture through the diversity of its cinemas (films from all regions of India, Premieres, cinema & debate sessions, cinema & goûter sessions, exhibitions…), as well as, the opportunity to participate in several activities : creative workshops are organised around the traditional sari, henna, classic/bollywood dance, Indian cuisine, photo & painting exhibitions, in addition to the Bollywood Night, among other moments. New features coming this year !</p>

<p><strong>I.C.E. : Indian Cinema Events</strong> is an association under the 1901 law, founded in 2003 by a cinema professional, filmmaker journalist of Indian origin, who was Head of Commmunications/PR/press for the Indian pavilion at Cannes Film Festival & programmer for the Indian section at Marrakech Intl. Film Festival (Yash Chopra, Saif Ali Khan, Deepa Mehta, Vishal Bhardwaj, Robin Bhatt, Aparna Sen et Deepa Mehta).</p>
<p>In <strong>2003, I.C.E.</strong> gave itself the mission of promoting the very best of Indian cinema in France, being the 1st association of its kind (Bollywood, Kollywood, indie cinema, arthouse films, documentairies etc.), as well as, accompanying film releases in France via Premieres, special screenings for new films, special events such as the <strong>Bollywood Day</strong> for the French release of <strong>K3G</strong> (<strong>LA FAMILLE INDIENNE</strong>) & <strong>MOTHER INDIA</strong> (Oscar entry for Best Foreign Film in the 50s). In 2005 it organised the Bollywood Weekend for the French releases of <strong>SHOLAY</strong> and <strong>KAL HO NA HO at the Trianon Hall in Paris</strong>. In addition, the association developped partnerships with the Musée Guimet for its <strong>Indian Summer cinema festival</strong> from 2005 to 2015, and with <strong>ARTE</strong> channel for its special Bollywood edition. Since 2016, I.C.E. has a branch in Grenoble where it organises regular screenings with Les 6 Rex & cinema La Nef for Indian releases in France, but also special events linked to Diwali, Holi, Pongal. It organised a special INDIA by I.C. E. event for the Intercultural Festuval at Université Grenoble Alpes in April 2019.</p>

<p>With almost 20 years expertise with cinema, the association also provides help & support to young filmmakers (in Official Selection & at the Short Film Corner). It has sponsored several filmmakers, DOPs to Canens Film Festival since 2003. We’ve offered support to Ashvin Kumar (Oscar-nominee for <strong>LITTLE TERRORIST), </strong>MF Hussain for<strong> MEENAXI</strong>, Sameer Hanchate for<strong> GAFLA, </strong>Anurag Kashyap & Arindam Mitra for<strong> BLACK FRIDAY</strong>, Manu Rewal for<strong> CHAI PANI ETC. </strong>In 2016, I.C.E. sponsored Filmmakers Abhiroop Basu to the Short Film Corner and Saurav Rai (Official Selection, Cine Fondation) to the festival. It organised a panel discussion « From short to 1st feature » with Anurag Kashyap (Director’s Fortnight with Raman Raghav 2.0), Aditya Vikramsengupta (Official Selection Cine Fondation Atelier), Saurav Rai (Official Selection, Cine Fondation) etc. Sponsorship parteners were Ishka Films and Shree Venkatesh Films. In 2017 it offered PR/press-media support to Payal Kapadia (Official Selection, Cine Fondation) for ‘Afternoon Clouds’.</p>

<p>Team <strong>I.C.E.</strong> comprises of volonteers from all professional horizons (graphic designers, web devs, photographers, writers, filmmakers, specialists of the Indian culture, journalists, cinema students, editors, travel agents, teachers, accountants, nurses, etc.) from various origins, passionate about Indian cinema, keen to share their love for cinema. I.C.E. has been regularly showcasing Indian artists in France.</p>

<p>In order to carry out this project in the best possible way, we require your help and support, so as to finance the upcoming edition of GIFF & it’s communications, propose more subtitled films as well as, have access to more invitees.</p>
