ISLANDE, TERRE DE CONTRASTES

The goal of this project is to immerse you into the fabulous Icelandic landscapes through a photo exhibit that will articulate itself around 4 main thematics that are earth, wind, fire and water. The 4 of us will take on the road with our precious DSLR cameras, lenses, tripods and an unsurpassed enthusiasm. The only thing missing to realize this project is your kind participation. We're counting on you!

ISLANDE, TERRE DE CONTRASTES

Who: 4 young women united around a common passion: photography.

Julie, aka « Jue » introduced by Kristell : Jue got interested in photography a few years back. In 2010, she bravely and successfully became self employed as a professional photographer. She can now say she makes her living out of her passion. Even though she is very versatile, she became an expert in pet and sports photography. She knows perfectly how to shoot moving subjects. Whether it is during a hot air balloon festival or a motocross competition, her technique is always top notch. Needless to say this expertise will be of great help when shooting Icelandic wild life including whales, puffins and wild horses.

One memorable photo from Julie's portfolio :

Personal website : www.juliel-photographie.fr

Kristell, aka "no stupid nickname yet, but we promise you she’ll come back from Iceland with one" introduced by Lucie: A unique vision of colours and photo arrangements, this is Kristell’s world. Her pastel tones, her subtle choice of colours and her magical landscapes are always an invitation to dive in. Her native region, Britanny, is an endless inspiration for her and an endless source of pleasure for our eyes. Whatever the weather conditions, Kristell always knows how to convey amazing atmospheres. Her strength: her subtlety, her expertise in colours, and pictures always perfectly balanced.

If I had to keep only one photo of Kristell :

Personal website: www.instempsphotographiques.jimdo.com

Lucie, alias « Lulu » introduced by Pascale: That’s easy, Lucie can photograph everything and it’s almost annoying at times!! Already with her bridge camera, she was giving us a complex; now that she has a real DSLR camera, it's even worse (or better). Her strengths: her natural sense of composition, her expert eye and a post-treatment always simple and balanced. You’re never disappointed by Lucie’s landscape photographs and, on each of them, it's clear that absolutely nothing is left to chance. Living near the Alps, she became an expert in mountainous landscapes and snowy atmospheres. This experience will certainly be of great help throughout our Icelandic adventure.

If I had to choose only one of her photos that would be this one:

Personal website: www.lucietoche.fr

Pascale, aka « Pec », introduced by Julie : Pec, my friend whom I’ve known for the longest time and who passed on to me the passion for photography. It's said that some people have a gift. Pascale certainly has one for photography. She never stops to surprise us with her unique and unusual compositions. She always knows how to convey the emotions of a place or a moment with her highly contrasted and colorful images in any weather conditions.

To make it short, she’s the creative asset of our trip and, to my opinion, here's the photo that stands out :

Personal website: www.pascaleacambon.com

What and where: Iceland, land of fire, ice and wind. Our goal is to take you with us on our discovery of the wild and vast Icelandic landscapes; to make you discover the ice and waterfalls of the glaciers, the fumes and fires of the volcanoes, the windy Plaines and the unreal black sand desert. We plan on coming back with enough interesting photos to set up a photo exhibit and create a narrative and illustrated website. Soon, the names of Landmannalaugar, Jökulsárgljúfur, Seljalandsfoss and Dimmuborgir will be familiar to us and to you but we can’t promise we’ll ever be able to pronounce them properly.

When: In June 2013, when summer begins and when daylight lasts 20 hours. Needless to say we’re not planning on sleeping much so that we don’t miss any minute of sunlight or even moonlight.

How: With your kind and benevolent support. And to thank you for your support, we've thought of many ways to make your donations worthwhile!

Allocation of funds

Your donations will help us to finance our trip to and in Iceland as well as the photo exhibit:

Flights Paris-Reykjavic and Reykjavic-Paris : about 350 € x 4 = 1400 €

4-wheeler rental for 12 days (a 4-wheeler is compulsory to get to the highlands): about 100 €/ day = 1200 €

Food (no restaurant, just something to eat every day) and lodging in camp sites, hostels and guesthouses: about 500 €/person = 2000 € for 4

Printing of about twenty Dibond photos (60 x 80 cm): about 90 €/photo = 1800 €

Total = 6400 €
