<p>Bonjour à tous et à toutes</p><p> </p><p>Hello everyone</p><p> </p><p>Je constate avec plaisir que la collecte se déroule à merveille et ne suit pas du tout le schéma typique qui est généralement que la plupart des soutiens arrivent au tout début et en toute fin de collecte. Ce n'est pas notre cas puisque les "kissbankers" ont apporté des contributions de manière continue sans aucun ralentissement notable tout au long des 6 jours déjà écoulés !</p><p> </p><p>I notice with a great pleasure than the fund raising is going on wonderfully and is really not following the usual scheme that is generally that most backers come at the very beginning and in the very end of the campaign. This is not our case, indeed the "kissbankers" brought monetary support in a continuous way without any noticeable slow down all along the 6 days that passed since the launching of the campaign!</p><p>Le palier numéro 2, "une révision pour la guitare électrique", vient juste d'être dépassé, et les compteurs indiquent maintenant 191% de l'objectif initial, ce qui est génial. Je profite donc de cette "actualité" pour remercier à nouveau toutes les personnes qui ont apporté leur pierre à l'édifice à ce jour : merci, merci, vraiment merci, je suis très touché de l'intérêt porté au projet et rien n'aurait été possible sans vous.</p><p>The funding level 2, "a check-up for the electric guitar", just got completed very recently and the gauge now shows 191% of the initial funding target, which is awesome. I then take advantage of writing now this "news bulletin" to thank again all the people who brought their support to the project : thank you, thank you, really, thank you, I'm delighted to see the interest that the project generates and without you, nothing would have been possible.</p><p>Ainsi la guitare électrique va pouvoir retrouver une seconde jeunesse et devenir un instrument fiable pour la scène et ne plus gâcher de prise de son en studio à cause d'un faux contact dans le sélecteur de micro ! Le financement de cette réparation a été rendu possible grâce à vos soutiens jusqu'alors et elle ira faire un tour à l'atelier du luthier peu de temps après la fin de la campagne.</p><p>Then the electric guitar will be able to find a renewed youth and become a reliable instrument for live shows and will never again spoil a recording take in the studio due to glitches at the microphone selector switch! The funding of this repair became possible due to your support until now, and the guitar will go for a trip at the repair workshop shortly after the end of the campaign.</p><p>À ce propos d'ailleurs, il reste encore quelques "cadeaux surprises" expédiés dès la fin de la campagne aux tous premiers supporters du projet. Ce n'est pas grand chose, juste une petite surprise plus symbolique qu'autre chose, mais il est encore temps d'avoir une chance d'en recevoir un pour les quelques soutiens qui viendront (je l'espère) au cours des prochains jours.</p><p>Talking about this by the way, there is still left a few "bonus gifts" sent as soon as the campaign shall end to the very early supporters of the project. This is not much, just a small surprise, more a symbol than anything else, but it's still time to possibly receive one for the next few supporters that will come (I hope so) in the next few days.  </p><p>Ainsi nous avons donc maintenant un nouvel objectif de collecte, qui est pour le nommer "un nouveau micro pour enregistrer le chant". Je me suis un peu creusé les méninges au cours de la nuit dernière pour arriver à décider ce que serait le palier suivant. J'aurais bien aimé sauter directement jusqu'au niveau "une batterie électronique", car ce serait tellement super si on pouvait en acheter une pour améliorer drastiquement le son et l'expressivité des percussions sur l'album... Mais en fait c'est encore un peu trop tôt ; un tel instrument est déjà un peu coûteux et l'écart entre le palier précédent et le nouveau palier potentiel aurait été vraiment trop important. Ainsi, l'objectif actuellement en cours est situé pas si loin du précédent qui vient d'être rempli : 250%, ce qui équivaut en gros à 1,5 soutiens "panier moyen" de plus, dans le but d'acheter un micro moyenne gamme (pas un Shure c'est sûr, mais pas non plus de la qualité médiocre), qui remplacerait avec bonheur notre vieux Hama. qu'on utilise pour les prises chant, qui est vraiment un micro bas de gamme qui manque beaucoup de dynamique et qui mérite vraiment de prendre sa retraite !</p><p> </p><p>We got then a new level unlocked, which is namely "a new microphone for vocal recordings". I was a bit puzzled during the previous night to decide what would be the next funding level. I would have liked to directly jump to the "electronic drum kit" level, since it would be totally great if we could buy such a kit to improve greatly the sound and expressiveness of the drums on the album... But actually it is still a bit early; such a kit is already a bit costly and the gap between the previous funding level and the potential next one would have been way to large. Then, the current target is located more closely to the previous one that just got funded: 250%, which means about 1.5 "average cart" supplementary backers, to buy a middle-grade microphone (not a Shure for sure, but not a cheap thing either) that would happily replace our current Hama used to vocal takes, which is really a low level microphone with a quite poor dynamic and that deserves really to retire!</p><p>Pour ce qui est du futur immédiat, il y a du songwriting dans l'air et ce mardi probablement j'ai prévu une session de studio pour faire les prises d'une nouvelle chanson... Et ce serait dommage de rater l'occasion de tourner un petit micro-rockumentaire sur mon travail en studio, rockumentaire qui, le temps de le monter ensuite, devrait être publié ici même dans la journée de mercredi ; ainsi vous pourrez voir un peu mes méthodes de travail, mon matériel bricolo et le workflow général de Me In The Bath... Et la chanson sera en avant première sur YouTube très vite ensuite (je rappelle qu'il y a une playlist pour écouter toutes les "avant premières" de l'album à venir sur la page principale de la collecte).  </p><p>Talking about the immediate future, there's some songwriting being done, and Tuesday probably I will enter the home-studio for the recording of a new song... And it would be a shame to miss the opportunity to shoot a quick micro-rockumentary showing my studio work, rockumentary that will, once cut, probably be published here during the day of Wednesday. Then, you'll be able to see a bit of my method for working, my DIY gear and generally speaking Me In The Bath's workflow... And the final track will be premiered on YouTube really soon thereafter (I remind you that there is a playlist on the main fund raising campaign page that allows to listen to any of the premiered tracks of the future album).</p><p> </p><p>Ensuite, comme dit la chanson, "Dream Baby Dream". En proposant comme palier suivant de débloquer une contrepartie très luxueuse: un pressage de l'album en 33 tours. C'est le top du top des objectifs envisagés... Donc n'hésitez pas à faire circuler l'information à son propos, c'est le seul moyen pour Me In The Bath de toucher d'avantage de soutiens potentiels et tout partage est un énorme pas en avant !</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In the meanwhile and without the will to stress too much onto this, I say once again that all this campaign is built upon word of mouth and friend-to-friend word spreading... So then do not hesitate to make information about it circulate, it's the only mean for Me In The Bath to reach more potential supporters and any share is a huge step forward!</p>

Comme annoncé dès le début, l'objectif initial était vraiment très modeste et ce serait vraiment une bonne chose de le dépasser (et de beaucoup !).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Well, that's done, in less than 4 days and thank to 4 very generous backers our initial funding goal has been reached: our really big "power batteries" budget for the recording of this album is now totally funded by your donations! As announced since the beginning, the initial goal was very modest and it would be a really, really good thing if we could go further (much, much further!)</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>On a déjà toute une série de paliers en réserve à annoncer si la campagne continue sur sa belle lancée... Et en attendant le "Niveau 2" n'attend plus que ses supporters : En cet instant précis la jauge de dons indique 151%. Il ne manque pas grand chose pour permettre le financement de notre deuxième objectif, qui se situe à 187,5% : la révision/réparation de notre guitare.</p><p> </p><p>We already have a whole series of funding levels ready to be announced if the campaign continues at its beautiful current rate and in the meanwhile the "level 2" of funding is already here and awaiting for its supporters. At this current time the gauge is showing 151%, We do not miss much to reach our second objective, which is located at 187,5%: the check-up and repair of our guitar.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Elle a bien besoin d'aller faire un tour en atelier : Déjà un bon petit coup de "restore contacts" sur son sélecteur de micro ne serait pas du luxe. C'est déjà une gène en studio quand on doit refaire une prise parce que ce fameux sélecteur a fait des sienne et que soudain on a un gros vrombissement sur la piste au lieu des notes jouées....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>It would really need a quick round trip to the workshop. Firstly, a small dose of "restore contact" spray inside the microphone selector would not be fancy. It's already annoying when we got to re-record a take in the studio because this famous selector started to emit a big buzzing noise instead of the played notes...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Mais aussi, l'attache de sangle est à faire réparer par un luthier (le pas de vis initial est foiré et il vaut mieux confier la tâche à un spécialiste plutôt que de le faire en amateur et de risquer que cela ne tienne pas) Cette petite réparation nous permettrait d'avoir un instrument opérationnel pour la scène.</p><p> </p><p>But also, the strap locking button needs repair by a specialist (the screwing inside is out of order and it's safer to have the task carried by a qualified person than to try to repair it at home and to have a chance that it does not stand over time). This small repair would allow us to have an instrument ready for the live shows.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Car -hors concerts acoustiques- ces dernière années il m'a fallu à chaque fois emprunter une guitare à quelqu'un avec qui je partageais l'affiche de la soirée, à chacun de mes concerts... Parfois ça se passe mieux que d'autres... </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Because -outside for acoustic sets- on the past few years I had each time to borrow a guitar to a co-playing act for each of my shows... And sometimes things goes better than for some other times....</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Par exemple sur le live de 2012 on m'avait prêté une guitare metal, au manche fin et aux cordes très souples, et ça a beaucoup impacté sur mon expressivité, car je n'étais pas du tout habitué à ce type d'instrument... Et ça s'entend sur l'enregistrement qui en est ressorti.</p><p> </p><p>As an example on the 2012 live album I had borrowed a metal guitar, with each string really close to his next sibling and all of them very light and flexible, and it impacted a lot on my expressiveness, because I was not easy at all with that kind of instrument, and this fact can be heard on the live album that came out of that show...</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Aidez-nous donc à avoir cette bonne vieille Epiphone couleur crème en pleine forme comme dans sa première jeunesse avec un petit soutien (ou un petit partage de notre page de collecte)...
