Komeetta_Album Production

My dearest Backers, Here’s an update of what’s going on with Komeetta! The music is now recorded and mixed! Due to covid we had some cancellations in the spring time and needed to postpone the recording and the mixing. The recording itself was one week of intense work at Studio Caporal in Antwerp where Nicolas Rombouts carefully documented 13 songs. My experience of studio work is rather stressful but this time everything went so smooth. We were basically just over the moon to work together in times when a smallest thing can be cancelled last minute. We also had Ten De Voegd over to film for two days, so a video of the ‘making of’ will appear at a given time! As post-production we recorded strings for two tracks. Gil made the string arrangements in a magical, masterly way that only he can. I’m so grateful to work with him and I really can’t wait to share this with you. Every time I listen to the result I’m spellbound from head to toe. I also found the perfect art work for the album. It’s piece by a Belgian artist called Ange Bruneel whose work is a tribute to space and passing of time, bringing us back to the essential, the cosmos. I was lucky to meet him this summer and purchase a piece called Triangle Earth. We are now preparing the release which will most probably be around September 2022. Due to covid, this current season is packed with postponed productions and we want to make something very special out of the release and are talking to some organisers now. A wonderful news also is that a Finnish record label is interested to release Komeetta. So as far as it comes to receiving your contributions, the vinyls and the t-shirts, I hope you can have some patience. It felt especially heart warming to give singing lessons to backers of Komeetta.
