La dame de Montfermeil : A short film between reason and madness.

Synopsis/Plot The goal of this short movie is to get you close of our character, to experience with her a moment of life which is between reason and madness in a childish and absurd world. To learn a bit more… We got the idea of this storytelling because we wanted to develop a world inspired from an extract of Les Misérables by Victor Hugo, named “Cosette and her doll”. The starting point is very similar but, the tone, the character and the way she manages to reach her goals are told in a new and authentic way. That’s why we chose to portray a woman victim of her own loneliness and pathology: kleptomania. We’ll try to depict the features of such a subject, in a genuine and soft way, using absurdity. Therefore, this short movie can be seen as a comedy drama. This project does not try to be a part of the artificial side of cinema but more in its sensibility which is at the same time dramaturgical, visual and sound. This short movie will be shot in Montpellier, from 30th May to 6th June, 2022. It is destined to compete in any film festival. The short movie will be subtitled in English for a wider broadcast. We also want to organize a projection of La Dame de Montfermeil, to show to the project’s participants whether they helped us with the funding, the filmmaking, or the moral support, that we achieved the making of our project. Besides, the short movie will be available in streaming for the people who financially supported us on here. Behind the Camera 📷 At the origins of this project, there are Lou-Anne Czaplicki and Arthur Dangréau. They are, the co-writers of this little story, but also the director and the director of photography. However, only two people are not enough to make a short movie, you need to have a cohesive and passionate crew! That’s how our project starts to take a more and more important place in the life of our team. We all stayed together and formed our film student organization. This is why carrying out this project is a fuel for us, because it shows a realistic perspective on the skilled jobs in the movie industry. Our goal with the creation of our young organization is to gather around audio-visual production, and to progress together on projects carried out by one or several members who want to bring their writings to life. So, this short movie allows us to make a first step into the production of more ambitious films, it also allows us to develop our artistic and technical skills in order to become professionals in the film industry.
