"Le LA du Monde" (Dante's Divine Comedy read by Humanity)
"Le LA du Monde" (Dante's Divine Comedy read by Humanity)
Choreographer, tap-dancer, dancer, and videographer, since 2006 I've been filming throughout the world numerous men and women reading a passage of Dante's Divine Comedy, each in their own language.
As of today, I filmed more than 2,000 people, in more than 40 different languages and dialects and in more than 600 places. The goal is to have all the continents represented.
This crowdfunding will be used to complete filming particularly in the Asian continent.
- Celebrating on September 14, 2021, the 700th Anniversary of Dante's death.
- Realizing a worldwide installation entitled Divine Babel : the simultaneous screening of the film Le LA du Monde with the 100 cantos of the Comedy projected on 100 screens, located in 100 different places around the world.
- Representing all continents to make this Babel truly devine
- Supporting a collective, original, unique work
- Completing all filming within the celebration date of 2021 (it's tomorrow already…)
- Preserving the liberty to operate, create all thanks to you
- Financing filming in the Asian continent
- Highlighting the message of unity, love and peace that Dante brings to earth
- Recomposing through images Dante's universal poem in a living fresco
- Reflecting the diversity of people, cultures and heritage
- Blending together our languages, our spiritualities, our spaces, our temporalities
- Giving access to knowledge and learning, to the stories and science hidden within this fundamental work
There is no doubt that Dante's work, with its universal power, can certainly travel through the centuries to speak to us today, in our world of emergency, of Inferno, of Purgatory, of Paradise.
With the heartfelt and profound belief that the Comedy (renamed Divine Comedy a century after Dante's death) is a prophetic work that bears in itself the mystery of its survival, of its outstanding vividness and of its growing notoriety.
The idea is to confront the Asian world through the mystical experience of Dante's western thought.

Waar dient de collecte voor
The requested amount of EUR 6,105 covers only basic travel expenses as well as insurance and visa costs for 133 days of filming.
If we include to that food and lodging and the presence of a guide for some leg of the journey, the budget rises to a total of EUR 12,727.
Costs per country :
Russia EUR 300.00 Moscow (10 days) EUR 590 Transiberiana (15 days) EUR 1,635 Vladivostok (3 days) Eur 87 Japan (20 days) EUR 1,920 Korea (10 days) EUR 770 China (25 days) EUR 950 Mongolia (10 days) EUR 520 India (30 days) EUR 1,090 Georgia (10 days) EUR 1,090 Armenia (15 days) EUR 515
The total sum of these costs is part of yet another budget of EUR 25,454 that would allow me to have a second director and photographer by my side who could chronicle the film shoots, the making-of and the encounters that are just as important as the actual film shoots.
Finally, the ideal budget, which includes all costs and technical material would be of EUR 57,434.
Reaching the goal of EUR 6,105 would allow me, and my lucky star, to start the journey.
If we could reach EUR 12,727, I would be in Seventh Heaven flying lightly floating in the air in the towards the Land of the Rising Sun.
Reaching the third budget level, would double our energy, our enthusiasm, our joy and our images!
This is our dream … how could we not continue hoping ?!?
