The BLOOM association becomes a partner of Kotick's Journey!
We are pleased to announce our partnership with the BLOOM association.
In a few words: BLOOM shares objectives that are in line with the values of our team. An association entirely devoted to the oceans and those who live off them, its mission is to work for the common good by creating a sustainable pact between Man and the Sea.
Two counterparts present in this participative financing allow you to support BLOOM's actions: the counterpart "The Gentle Sailors" (25€) and our counterpart "The Intrepid Officers" (50€)!
Thanks to your support, we hope to reach new goals, including the €39,500 level! This will allow our team to collaborate with BLOOM to create a new puzzle related to the first cause of ocean destruction: overfishing!
Finally, to celebrate this partnership between BLOOM and Kotick's Journey, an original artwork by our illustrator Alizée Favier is now available for sale! A part of the proceeds will support BLOOM in its missions and activities!

Kotick's Journey was initially an interactive exhibition, which met with a large audience on its release. Just before the French lockdown, we filmed the video below within the exhibition:
Following the success of this adventure, we thought it would be great to bring the little seal Kotick back to our/your families, in a lighter version but with the same content and the same storylines.
Kotick's Journey is a hybrid exploration and adventure game that takes the whole family to the heart of the Arctic Ocean.
Kotick's Journey combines the discovery of environmental information with the fun aspects of video games to raise awareness among young people about the preservation of biodiversity and marine ecosystems.
It consists of both a large map to be assembled measuring 49.3 cm x 117 cm, 1.5 mm of thickness for each piece, and a video game on smartphone and tablet.
The map allows the player to discover the issues in Kotick’s aquatic world, while the game allows the player to teleport and interact with it.
Kotick's Journey is an interactive fable loosely based on Rudyard Kipling's short story The White Seal published in 1894 in The Jungle Book.
Kipling's short story was about the adventures of a young seal, Kotick, who set out to find a better world his people and himself.
Our interactive work questions its current audience:
In a world in which animals have less and less room and in which humans have an increasingly large ecological footprint, what would Kotick's fate be today?
Kotick would probably not know where to go. That is why you need to help him!
WHY INVITE KOTICK TO YOU HOME?
- The interaction between the map and the video game makes discussions and the discovery of ecological themes easier for young people,
- The players collaborate very naturally to solve the enigmas of Kotick's Journey,
- The artistic direction and the musical atmosphere allow a clear narration through the environment for the youngest.
- The scientific content was proposed by Sarah Lemer, doctor in genetics, evolution and marine biodiversity at Harvard University. She is also the scientific advisor on this project.
“My role is essentially to provide a scientific expertise on the various environmental issues developed in this game. Let's take the example of the Kamchatka crabs: these are crabs deliberately introduced into the Kamchatka Sea, whose population is growing exponentially and devouring everything in its path. The solution, for Kotick (and therefore for the player), is to go and find the predators that will attack the crabs and, thus, allow the population to be controlled.” (Translated from French)

Kotick's Journey was born out of our desire to address the ecological issues with the adults of tomorrow. Through this work, we want to help them discover the major environmental challenges they will have to face, such as:
- Ice melt,
- Oil spills and oil exploitation,
- Plastic pollution,
- The harmful effects of intensive fishing and poaching.
We need your help so that Kotick can share his world with children!
Currently, Kotick's Journey consists of eight puzzles related to environmental issues in the Arctic.
Beyond the goal of making and printing the map, we also want to continue developing the game while we can.
New puzzles and playable areas are waiting to be created and will be discovered as the different stages of this funding campaign are reached.
The studio EJT-labo and the production company Promenons-nous dans les bois are members of the association of producers of digital experiences (PXN) and the association of audiovisual producers of the Grand Est (APAGE).
They produce and make animated films and work on bridges between digital experiences and real-life experiences, through installations and games.
Their artists have for example worked on the feature films Croc-Blanc (2018) and Josep (2020), recent 2021 César for best animated film.

Because its hybrid nature is resolutely innovative, the traditional game publishing circuits are not equipped to distribute and finance Kotick's Journey, despite the fact that our prototype has aroused the interest of many people.
The easiest way to make the game happen is to invite you to pre-order it now and, thanks to this, to support its financing!
We have determined several stages that will allow us to keep building the World of Kotick, to create new areas, to develop new game features and to make the game map!
