Mission humanitaire Poids Plume Asie

<p> Hello, </p> <p>  </p> <p> We are Fanny and Claire, two medical students in fourth year and we are trying to organize an humanitarian mission in Cambodia in August 2017. We are both passionated about our studies. This year, our faculty, is offering us the possibility to have a placement abroad in any country that we want, so we've decide to go to Cambodia an to organize a medical humanitarian mission. A few month ago we've seen a movie called 'Les pépites" explaining the history of this country, the situation (like the fact that a lot of children are working in garbage dumps to survive). It was a shock for us, we wanted to help, to do something, anything to help fighting the poverty of these country.</p> <p> And that's where the idea of the mission is coming from.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="11059658_10206198753469069_1194575072828512165_n-1489667556" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/403610/11059658_10206198753469069_1194575072828512165_n-1489667556.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> That is why you tried contacting an association: Poids Plume Asie. This association have for main goals to provide free dental and medical care to children in Cambodia. Moreover, it trains young people to the different health professions, and helps building houses to host the families and to give them places to sleep and live.</p> <p>  </p> <p> After talking with Poids Plume Asie we discovered that there is still a lot of work to do there, but as we cannot do everything we had to make choices. For us, the priority was the kids. Our projet will have several objectives: </p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>A vaccination campaign for children</strong> (Diphteria, Tetanos, Poliomyelitis and hepatitis), this will be the biggest part of our work in Cambodia.</p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>A prevention campaign about STD</strong> with : free condoms, explanation about contamination and how to avoid it, creation of prevention posters. Sadly, there is a cambodian belief saying that raping a child is curing you from Aids. That's why it seems necessary for us to organise this campaign about STD, especially about Aids, to stop those atrocity from happening.</p> <p>  </p> <p> - <strong>A contraception campaign</strong> with explanations about the contraception methods, pose of IUD for the women wanting it. We think that providing women with natality control methods is mandatory to avoid  child abandon ( watch the movie "Les pépites" if you're interested by this subject).</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="14925228_1823954391221206_5754431677655725483_n-1489667684" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/403611/14925228_1823954391221206_5754431677655725483_n-1489667684.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> We estimated a total budget of 1500 euros to buy all the medical supplies that we would need. That's why we've been organizing several fund raising for a few month now ( student party, shows, cinema projection..). Until today we've raised  500 euros, so we would still need <strong>1000 more euros. </strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>That's why we've created this crowdfunding page, and that's why we need you. We really hope that our project will interest and passionate you as much as it does for us !
