"Protest" : une fiction musicale / a musical fiction

"I'd like you to contribute to the production of a musical fiction for the song "Protest" from my last album. With high artistic qualities and real actors on a natural set, this fiction aims to be a piece of art. This is a non-for profit project. Not for profit at all. It is "the story of a man approaching the end of his life who comes back through time to find, for a moment, the love he never experienced...". This is an ambitious project, closer to a short movie than a music video, which is far from the normal rules of the music business. But the rules are made to be defied, and I'd like to believe we can do it together..."

Bonjour à tous,   Voici un triste communiqué concernant l'abandon de ce projet "Protest" :     "   Nous vous avons sollicités fin 2012 pour participer au financement du projet "Protest" sur KissKissBankBank, une fiction musicale que nous souhaitions ambitieuse, en réalité plus proche d'un court-métrage de fiction que d'un clip. Le montant - pourtant important - de cette levée de fond représentait en définitif 50% du financement global de ce projet. Après plus d'un an et demi de recherche, tant du côté de partenaires privés, de subventions que de mécènes, nous réalisons maintenant que nous ne pourrons pas réunir l'autre moitié du financement, et qu'il ne nous sera donc pas possible de faire aboutir ce projet dans la forme que nous imaginions.   C'est à notre grand regret - sincèrement - que nous faisons le choix d'abandonner ce projet plutôt que d'en proposer un différent, et de procéder au remboursement de vos dons (la méthode vous a été transmise par email).   Nous avons certainement pêché par notre ambition pour ce projet qui se voulait hors format, sans velléité commerciale, et avec une réelle exigence artistique et esthétique. Le contexte du secteur musical et audiovisuel ne se prêtait pas à cela, pas ces derniers mois en tous cas...   Pour vous remercier de votre soutien, nous gardons vos contacts emails et vous transmettrons dans les semaines à venir quelques exclusivités sur l'actualité de Chapelier Fou : lien de téléchargement des remixes du EP "Protest" de Chapelier Fou à sortir pour le Record Store Day samedi prochain (19/04/2014), clips et morceaux en écoute exclusive du nouvel album à venir cet automne, etc.   Nous vous remercions à nouveau pour votre soutien à ce projet et à Chapelier Fou, nous garderons longtemps en mémoire à quel point votre engagement a été moteur pour nous. Bonjour à tous,   Le temps file, et je n'ai pas donné beaucoup de nouvelles ici... Toutes mes excuses à vous les Kissbankers !   De mon côté, j'ai continué la tournée d'INVISIBLE en France et à l'étranger, et j'ai pu participer à une résidence à l'école Jacques Prévert de Rennes pendant près de 6 mois. Je travaille déjà sur le prochain album, et sur un projet particulier dont je vous parlerai très bientôt.   Quant à "Protest", le projet avance comme il faut ! Le tournage aura lieu en fin d'année, ou tout début 2014 maximum. Vous pourrez enfin voir le résultat en avril 2014 !   En attendant, quelques infos/cadeaux pour vous :   - Voici tout d'abord l'un des remix de Protest par Dimlite qui apparaîtra sur l'édition spéciale de "INVISIBLE" : https://soundcloud.com/dimlite/protest-remix Un grand merci à Dimlite, un artiste que vous devez suivre impérativement.   - Les affiches sérigraphiées de Protest sont presques prêtes pour les envois. C'est l'Atelier Percolation de Nancy qui les a réalisés, et le rendu est sublime.   - Enfin, je travaille en ce moment avec City Sports Cap pour vous préparer les casquettes Chapelier Fou. He took class with Colette Armand, general manager of the Ballet National de Marseille, before joining in 1998 the school of ballet dancing from the Opéra de Paris. He won two medals at the International Ballet Competition - Varna.   He started dancing for the National Paris Ballet Opera in 2002 where he played alongside Aurélie Dupont. He became Star Dancer on March 7th 2012.   Josua Hoffalt will play the main character at the end of the musical fiction.   <img alt="Laurazauner" src="https://kkbb-production.s3.amazonaws.com/uploads/project_image/image/2472/LauraZauner.jpg" />   LAURA ZAUNER 27 years old, young spanish actress   Born in Barcelone, Laura (prounced Laora) learnt theater, dance and music since its first age. Graduated at the Barcelona University, she worked in the production before coming to Paris in 2008 to follow Jacques Lecoq's school of theater classes. Graduated in 2010, she is the co-founder of the 38 CIT company. She worked since for many projects for the theater, TV, movies, music videos or short movies, for both french and spanish TV. Her acting skill on the Fulgurances project at the Musée du Louvre in 2010 was particularly famous.   Laura Zauner will play the main female character.

A great theater actor, he played King Lear and the well known Thomas Bernhard plays. He's actually playing Beckett's "Endgame" in Paris. Possessed by the verb, he started playing for the movie theater with Andrzej Wajda in 1961. He also played for Alejandro Jodorowsky. You have probably read that we asked a few artists to do remixes from the "Invisible" songs. They were either close artists or artists I really dig the work. I'm now proud to announce some names who confirmed their remixes, who will be included on the INVISIBLE Special Edition thanks to you :   ► Third Eye Foundation aka Matt Elliott : my Ici D'Ailleurs labelmate Matt sings on my two albums, and also invited me to play on stage for the Third Eye Foundation live act. He was the first to answer, thank you so much Matt !   ► Bracken aka Chris Adams : ex Hood (Domino Records) member, Chris Adams is also part of the Third Eye Foundation live act. He told me a few months ago he would love to rework the song Protest, so it's with great pleasure to have a Bracken remix, his new project whose album was out on Anticon.   ► James Pants : signed on the famous Stones Throw label, James Pants is a wonderful lo-fi / funky hip hop producer. His universe is quite far from mine, so I'm really curious to ear his work on "Protest".   Stay tuned for more names soon...
