Ski Handi à travers le monde

<p> <strong>          Presentation</strong></p> <p>  </p> <p>      I, Jordan Broisin, was born on August 4th, 1993 in Annecy, France. At two and a half old, I was already asking my father to join my elder sister on the ski tracks, and that's when he began to teach me. In 2001, I joined the Ski Club Annecy Semnoz. For 3 years I learned the basics of ski competition and racing in a sport-study program. In 2004, I end up 3rd of my category (10-11 years old) at a major regional race. In 2006, while still skiing regularly as a hobby, I chose to stop competing in order to have the time to focus more on my studies.</p> <p>  </p> <p>      In May 2009, I am the victim of a motorcycle accident that will cost me my left leg (it got amputated) and the section of two motor nerves in the left shoulder. Waking up at the hospital, my only motivation is to get back on the ski tracks as soon as possible, and that's the first question I asked my doctor. It took me seven months in re-education to be able to ski again in December 2009. With a temporary prosthesis adapted for skiing, I quickly found my landmarks again. I was then able to pursue many sports like mountain biking or running with my definitive prosthesis.</p> <p>  </p> <p>      In 2011, I was admitted in a preparatory class in Lyon for the engineering school competitive admissions. In second year, I had the idea to attempt a Paralympic ski competition experience. I was welcomed and supported by the Handisport Lyonnais association where I got my license to join my first ski handicapper race. It is a step of the France cup; I ended up 3rd in slalom. Enthusiast by this good result, I decided to go on for the next season.</p> <p>  </p> <p>      My admission exams to the engineering school went well; I was admitted in the engineering school of Grenoble-INP Phelma (Grenoble Institute of Technology) I chose for its strong Electronics and Telecom curriculum and also its proximity from the French Alps.  During the season 2013/2014 I succeeded to go skiing on a regular basis and to participate to every Paralympic race in the Region even if my training was limited due to a lack of coaching, time and good weather conditions.</p> <p>  </p> <p>      The 2013-2014 season ends up with the weeklong France Paralympic Championships in Auron. During the competition, I was able to meet and compete with the French Paralympic Alpine Ski Team coming back from the Sotchi Paralympic Games. I got the opportunity to challenge with some of the best in the world. My results were really satisfying and I got in touch with the Hopefuls Group of the French Team in order to join their ranks.</p> <p>  </p> <p>      Now being accepted in the Embedded Systems and Software curriculum in Grenoble Institute of Technology, I am more serene than ever about my studies and ready to invest myself a lot more into skiing. Moreover my quick breakthrough gave me the will to give myself more involved in ski competition. I have now only one thought in mind, the next Paralympic games.
