Irreproachable object for modern romantics, SPLEEN FACTORY thinks out loud to scope things out.</p> <p>  </p> <p> Twice a year, our new <i>rendez-vous</i> will draw a stage for a central concept that will define every issue, a complex idea that talks about us. BOREDOM, MEAT, MOONS, JAZZ or ROOTS. The blank canvas, possibility or state of mind, romanticism, luxury, inspiration, affliction, BOREDOM has a lot to tell us. Used as a metaphysical weapon or a daily cross to bear, BOREDOM gives rise to warrior masterpieces and internal conflicts. We have to rent photography devices, flashes and lights, craft settings and costumes, dispatch it all to the often exotic locations we take over, and satisfy every need of the creative team, who often works for free...Models, photographers, assistants, stylists, hair and make up artists have to work in good conditions and do what it takes to manage at their best the time they kindly give us, even if it sometimes involves a taxi...</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong><u>PRINTING</u></strong> (7€ / magazine, printed in Liège, Belgium)</p> <p>  </p> <p> Everybody at Spleen Factory agrees on the fact that online press, if it has its pros, never replaces the feeling of holding a nice paper magazine. On a high-end perspective, we chose the finest recycled papers, selected the best printing techniques and added some inside surprises...We moved mountains to get the best prices we could find, but printing 1000 copies of this premiere issue is a quite big money deal we could really use your help for.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="10675672_10203880360462439_1926984443081874213_n-1412612793" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/125720/10675672_10203880360462439_1926984443081874213_n-1412612793.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong><u>DISTRIBUTION</u></strong> (2000€ / issue, covering the distributor's and the delivery costs)</p> <p>  </p> <p> We did not decide arbitrarily to print 1000 copies of our BOREDOM issue : our distributor, KD Press (Acne Paper, Under The Influence, Vogue, Numero, Self Service, etc...), needs a certain amount of copies to spread our magazine all over Europe and overseas. Our magazine might be growing in France, it will still be written mainly in English, so we really want to consider an international expansion. The more our project will be heard from far, the more we will be able to deliver crazy baroque theatrical romantic stories in the next issues...</p> <p>  </p> <p> <a href="http://www.spleenfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/GABY-4banner.jpg" target="_blank"><img alt="" src="http://www.spleenfactory.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/GABY-4banner.jpg"></a></p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>LAUNCHING</strong></u> (1500€ including the rent of the location, the food and the drinks, and the various costs related to the setting)</p> <p>  </p> <p> The launching party of our premiere issue will take place in november 2014 in a gallery space in Paris - where you will all be infinitely invited. Thanks to that financial push, we will be able to rent the location, print and send invitations to make sure the "right people" show up and help our project growing and expending (press coverage, commercial deals...), and make the impressive and fantastic scenography we have been working on with artist Anaïs Chapuis happen.    </p> <p> <img alt="Capture_d__cran_2014-09-29___11.22.05-1411989852" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/123449/Capture_d__cran_2014-09-29___11.22.05-1411989852.png"><em>Here is a 3D preview of the Spleen Factory box, a perfect coffin for finding our premiere issue, to be exposed in a huge concept story in Paris, then in Berlin. We are very excited to work with artist Alix Clavero on this mystery box... </em></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong><u>WHAT IF WE RAISE MORE THAN PLANNED? </u></strong> The more help we will get on this project, the more we will print copies and go international. In addition to that, we will be able to start working on our next issue about HYSTERIA : expect some punk digital melancholic realness!!! Thanks to your help, we can sure make Spleen Factory Magazine happens. This intense year has seen a lot of work and a lot of variations, but the result we will soon hold in our hands is really worth it. We will never thank you enough for making this romantic rêverie true!</p>
