Un Aquarium für die Kitaquarium - Berlin

While taking into consideration the potential of each child, we will try to awaken their talents using different materials made available to them. Via our project, we wish to support artistic expression and a tight link to nature, we all see as paramount, since living in a big city like Berlin. </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>How does this initiative get funded? </strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> First, we have taken out a loan, then the state of Berlin is helping with another 20 000 euros. </p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong><em>But, seeing as we are a parental initiative , our budget is very limited, our not-for-profit organisation got together many parents all working free of charge in order for our project to be viable and successful. We are planning on opening end of October. </em></strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> Two parents, both artists, are working on murals and some furniture, which will give our project a particular flair. For instance, our wardrobe/coat hangers:</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Gard_fond2-1409830552" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/117085/gard_fond2-1409830552.png"></p> <p> Every child will know its coat hanger by recognizing a magical plant that will be his/hers against the backdrop of the silhouette of a large wale. We are lucky to be supported by a few publishers who have donated some educational books, a sri-lanka mom will donate suspended chairs, a grandma is sewing pillows and cushions, a frandfather is building education elements following Emmi Pikler, we are building a good part of our corridor from old recycled yet secured windows, with a bit of luck a famous Berlin DJ will give us a good price for some sliding doors he doesn´t in the end need, another grandmother is crocheting animal cussions, everyone is contributing with what they can.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Where do you come in? </strong></p> <p> Help us to give to our children born in our lovely concrete metropolis the chance to explore different elements, in order to awaken their interest and respect for nature, seeing as often their natural surroundings get cruelly smothered in garbage.</p> <p>  </p> <p> We would like for the canteen, where some building and creating will take place, to be an area for discovery. </p> <p> In parallel we will try to raise funds for the construction of one or more learning tables (One would be luminous, another would contain sand, water and one would be a greenhouse..)</p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Serre4-1409773174" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/116998/serre4-1409773174.jpg"></p> <p> This is the same room where a large window opens onto the street...</p> <p>  </p> <p> , <img alt="Vitrine-1409773387" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/117000/vitrine-1409773387.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>Our project: </strong></p> <p>  </p> <p> <strong>The idea would be to place a fishtank big enough to stretch all along the window</strong>:</p> <p> enabling the children to be protected from glances from passers-by by colourful fish</p> <p> making this area a magical point of focus for our children aged 1-6</p> <p> getting them focussed and observing (a hypnosis which we are sure the educators won´t mind)</p> <p> and teaching them to take responsability for other live beings (this fishtank will have to be cleaned, fish will have to be fed, names given and conversations held...)</p> <p>  </p> <p>  </p> <p> <img alt="Aquarium-1409773671" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/117001/aquarium-1409773671.jpg"></p> <p>  </p> <p> Furthermore our name is Kitaquarium, Kita (in German Kindergarden) and aquarium from latin, it would just make total sense to have an aquarium, and as we know, things that make sense are in great demand these days.</p> <p>  </p> <p> <u><strong>Help us !
