Untitled (The Asylum Seeker)
<p>“Untitled (The Asylum Seeker)” introduces the immigrant as an individual. The narrative aims to deconstruct the systematic and cold identification the western society attributes to immigrants. Numbers and statistiques are in contrast with an emotional state of mind, inciting an interest towards human beings that are currently ghosts in our community.<br /> Developed around image, sound, video and installations, the work takes shape throughout three main different phases: <br /> The Asylum Seeker in our political, economical and social system; <br /> Portraits as well as metaphorical images exploring my state of mind coming across their present and past lives. A shift through which the observant is lead into a more intimate point of view; <br /> The result of an artistic laboratory related to the cognition of “Home” experienced with a group of refugees.<br /> It is a socially-engaged art project which goal is to provide a visual space conceived as a conduit for creating awareness and dialogue about issues pervading our societies. <br /> </p><p>The project has been conceived from the very beginning as an immersive visual exhibition were the observant interacts somehow to each series of images. It's a path composed by three "chapters" that despite different from each other, connect. Allocation of funds
<p>May it be clear to all, there is no profit just a possibility to bring forward my research in order to try and shine a new light on this humanitarian crisis, making it visible to all with the aim of spreading a renewed awareness and involvement throughout society.</p><p>Exceeding my goal will allow me to bring to concrete my first important social engaged project: print, frame and buy all necessary installation materials I will need for launching an itinerant exposition around different European countries (France and Italy for certain). </p><p>By "Itinerant exposition" I am aiming to bring awareness in various neighborhoods of Paris, Rome and smaller social Italian realities where Immigration is not as much well perceived and welcomed. </p><p>I am looking forward to include in the fund raising an amount of money I would symbolically like to donate to all my special and beautiful friends I have met around France and Italy that have helped me to develop my project, not only posing as my photographic subjects but also sharing many, many moments together and opening up to me in such a warm and loving way! </p><p>This fund will not only give birth to an artist project, it will contribute to make awareness around, hoping it will open up to a different look towards human beings we are taking away the identity from. It will "give birth" to a project that is aimed to give voice and space to people that have so many things to share and from whom we have so much to learn.</p><p>It is an economic contribution for life values. </p><p><strong><u>*(The pictures where minors appear are not included in the reward choice) </u></strong></p>
