Help us bring our puppet theatre to urban and remote rural areas in Latin America raising awareness on children rights!

Présentation détaillée du projet

The project consists of a trip around Central and South America, aiming to raise awareness, through puppet shows, about the rights and fundamental freedoms of the child and the importance of pluriculturalism at different levels of Latin American societies, mainly parents, teachers and State authorities. The target area of Central and South America facilitates the success in realising the project: although there exists a rich diversity in the target States, a common culture also appears in many of them that facilitates talk of a Latin American identity, and allows for the finding of similar solutions to common problems.

Who we are

Helene and Roberto!

Helene is a young lawyer who specialised on human rights and international law and worked for a little while in Latin America. Photography is one of her main passions!

Roberto is a young professional puppeteer with already quite a few years of experience in the puppets world and a strong interest in human rights and social change in Latin America.

À quoi servira la collecte ?

General reason!

Your contributions will bring this project to life. We will need community support for this effort to be fruitful! Your money will pay a puppet show for a community, several kilometres worth of fuel, car maintenance, our food and water, material for the puppet workshops, frontier crossing expenses, etc etc. The costs are more than 10 000 euros for the 10-12 months long project. The goal of 2000 is the absolute minimum of what we need for a strong push to start the project! Therefore, exceeding 2000€ is a more than welcomed outcome! (If we manage to raise 2000, we will be able to start the project; then we could raise the rest along the way...)

Specific reasons!

10€

Ten euro would buy enough material for a small puppet workshop.

25€

Twenty-five euro will buy enough food and water for both Roberto and Helene for almost a week.

50€

Fifty euro will cover around 500km in terms of fuel.

100€

Hundred euro in average would allow to organise a puppet show in a community, all costs included (in average).

FAQ Questions les plus fréquentes concernant le projet

+ What is this??

A cool idea! Basically, it's a travelling puppet theatre that will go through Latin America, starting and ending in Guatemala, offering puppet shows to children of limited resources. We are aiming mostly to small rural and remote communities. The main aim of the project is to promote children rights and human rights through puppet shows and theatre workshops, always considering the needs and dynamics of every particular country/community.

+ Who are you??

We are two people responsible for the implementation of the project: Helene y Roberto.
Helene is a lawyer who focused on human rights and worked for a while in Latin America. Photography is her main passion!
Roberto is a professional puppeteer, thus the puppet brain of the project! He's been involved in social change through theatre for some years already...!

+ Where is my money going??

Your financial contribution basically brings the project to life. It helps us buy the necessary material for the puppets the children will be making in each communities, the microphones and speakers we need for the shows, DVDs to record on them the material collected etc. Your contributions will go for the car's petrol, water, reparations of the car in case it breaks down, food and our basic survival needs, giving us the ability to give puppet shows for free in the communities we want to reach. We will be keeping track of all expenses!
