However, most of them have an inconsistent and partial knowledge of the reality on the ground. The main target audience of the project are young people aged 20-35 from Palestine and abroad. The project’s aim is to provide a contemporary, unique and alternative approach to visiting Palestine.
The official launch took place on December 2014. The website is user-friendly and addresses young people from all over the world. paltrips.ps was initiated by the Franco-German Cultural Center in Ramallah, and has been selected to receive funding from the Franco-German Cultural Fund, allowing the first phase (September to December 2014) of the project to take place.
paltrips.ps - released in English - presents Palestine through articles, photos, videos and audio sequences of 10 main cities: Bethlehem, Gaza, Hebron, Jenin, Jericho, Jerusalem, Nablus, Qalqilia, Ramallah and Tulkarm. Similar to tourist guides, the website contains practical information, advice, broad maps and contacts for travelers. In addition to this, it also presents a cultural and literary dimension, using different communication and artistic tools.
The authors are young professionals from Palestine, France and Germany.
The main goal of the project is to create a collaborative platform that gathers young professionals from different nationalities that can advocate the reality of Palestine and Palestinians using paltrips.ps as a sustainable tool for youth tourism in Palestine.
