Paris, dream or nightmare? Jane is an English girl, hanging onto her dream of becoming a real Parisian. Will she manage to make it come true on her own? No! A Parisian life coach untangles for her the secrets of life in the city of romance. "Paris I Hate to Love You" is a mini TV-series that we aim to shoot in both English and French versions as the two actresses are bilingual.

PARIS JE T'AIME MOI NON PLUS - a series of comic shorts

The Paris I Hate to Love you Team will be featured this Monday evening on Ollia Georges' show "Happy Hour With Ollia" on Radio Enghien.  Listen live from 6 pm on  98 FM in the Ile de France area or online at

Melissa Bamford presents the project to the audience at the Australian Embassy during the Australian & new Zealand film night!

French frogs, treacherous albion, our friends the Gauls, taking French leave... from Waterloo to the «entente cordiale», cross-Channel relations for centuries have been  «love-to-hate».   This comedy mini-series will explain why.  An English girl in Paris consults a coach to learn how to become «French».  British humour takes on the French character.  The aim : give the French a taste of English irony so they can take themselves less seriously.

An out-of-sorts English girl runs away from her homeland to live out her Parisian dream.  Only to find herself like a fish out of water.  But destiny comes to her aid.  She encounters a rather unusual coach whose lessons teach her how to become «French» and reveal to her the secrets of the true Parisian lifestyle.

Short four minute episodes: each episode explores a cultural «difference», sometimes mocking a French characteristic seen through the eyes of our English girl, or alternatively laughing at the Englishness our heroine will have to rapidly get rid of.

Our two actresses speak both French and English, they would therefore be delighted to shoot the series in both languages.

Jane, The English Girl (Christine Hooper)

Very British, she’s a kind of female « Mr Bean ». Thirty something, single and weighed down by her Englishness ; British decency and «stiff upper lip».  She dreams of becoming a Parisian beauty. Once transformed, everything will be so much better, won’t it?

Victoire de St Germain, Coach (Eirin Forsberg)

Direct. Efficent. Radical. Motivation. Practical exercices. Let’s go, just do it !

Herself a foreigner in Paris, she’s already gone through the painful phase of transformation. Although, painful doesn’t necessarily mean the same thing for the two women ...  She has become a more than perfect Parisian, almost.

The coach’s office, Jane’s Paris flat, and many different typical, and not so typical locations of daily Parisian life (metro, boulangerie, café...) as well as some of the city's most beautiful settings.

Her love and affection for France go back to her first French holiday at the age of 7.   Despite her near perfect integration into French culture, she has very much kept her oh so-British soul.  An actress and director, she will soon be seen on the big screen, acting alongside Gerard Depardieu in Asterix and Obelix.

Just as free and at ease in front of the camera as on stage, this Viking left her fjords some 15 years ago. A fine observer of the human art of living, she’s a perfect cameleon who transforms herself to serve her art, acting in French, English, Italian and Norwegian…

A producer and documentary film maker from New Zealand, Melissa has been based in Paris for the last 2 years.  She understands the difficulties of everyday Parisian life and has come on board to make this comedy come to life, for your viewing pleasure.

Paris je t'aime moi non plus (Paris I Hate to Love You) began as a twinkle in the eye of Christine Hooper, grew up with some help from Bibi Jacob, and has been given a touch of daring by Eirin Forsberg.
