Silence is a project which aims to promote and develop the art of skateboarding in Belgium and beyond, and especially by producing high level skateboard video clips!
You should help us because filming in the streets is what we do and love the most, what we've done since our childhood and what we will keep doing everyday, everywhere, until our body can't stand it anymore!
The project was launched in late 2014 by a group of 3 good friends in love with skateboarding:
Robert Ingimarsson, an Icelandic talent who has spent 10 years in Brussels. He loves to skate any every obstacle he find on his way as his ancestors the Vikings! Whether it rains or snows, he skates and he proves it with this little clip:
Szymon Stachon, a Polish bowlrider who has spent most of his life in Brussels. He has won numerous big conpetitions, including one of the World Series in Prague in 2007. He demonstrates his talent in this clip shot in the famous Ursulines' bowl in Brussels
Simon Grassart, skater and filmer from the north of France. He made this clip with Szymon in Ursulines' bowl but also the Noorder Light video, a few years ago, highlighting Belgians and french finest talents. You can watch it here:
Their passion for skateboarding and its correlation with urban art and audiovisual documentation of it has pushed today this ambition to create a group to provide the means to continue to do what they love , skateboarding, and videos !
To begin with, we want to make boards that will also be a way to allow street artists to express themselves . The first series was entrusted to a young artist from brussels nicknamed "Fiston". He's one of Robert 's childhood friend who wields the pen with great skill ! Here is an overview of the first series:
Wood quality of our supplier was tested unceremoniously by us. The first video is in preparation. We will use of course the Internet benefits to communicate with the public . A facebook page and instagram account already exist and a website is under construction.
