THE RAID 4L TROPHY ? WHAT IS IT ABOUT ?
First of all, it is important to keep in mind that the Raid 4L Trophy is not only a great humanitarian adventure but also a sportive one that brings people together around the same collective goal: solidarity. Indeed, it gathers, every year, hundreds of students from 18 to 28 years old !
Of course, it has nothing to do with a speed contest. The challenge is actually about crossing the finish line after having avoided the traps of the mountains, the dunes and of oueds!
It is thanks to solidarity, to team spirit, to mutual assistance as well as to the surpassing of oneself that everyone wins. However, this is not all yet … To be perfectly achieved, this challenge requires the carrying of sportive material as well as school supplies to highly impoverished children in Morocco !
Actually, thanks to the association “Les Enfants du Désert” ( The Children of the Desert), 25 000 children benefit from donations and receive education in a good environment.
THE TONTONS RIDERS, THIS IS US !
We are the #886 team of Raid 4L Trophy 2015. We decided to take part to this adventure in april 2014. We will therefore set off for the 18th edition of the Raid 4L Trophy on the 19th february 2015.
The driver of our belgian team is Benjamin! At only 22 years old, Benjamin is not only a graphic designer, a Front End developer but also a student attending evening classes in 3D animation. Found of cars, Benjamin is delighted to have the opportunity of taking part to this challenge that is as well sportive as humanitarian. It actually enables him to live fully his passion for cars and, at the same time, to satisfy his will to discover the world!
It is Alessandra, 22 years old, his co-driver, that will keep him company all along this travel. She is studying communication sciences at IHECS and plans to go on her studies with a master in journalism.
What does the 4L Trophy mean to her ? A dream coming true !
Of course, we are not alone... Tennessee, our Renault 4L will take part to the adventure! :) There she is! She is 30 years old since this year! Still a bit rusty but after having been entirely fixed up by our cares, she will be perfectly ready !
Why taking part to this adventure ?
On the one hand, the challenge is a sportive one; on the other it is a humanitarian one. Bringing mutual assistance and sharing are values we believe in.
We need to put all our effort into it, to surpass ourselves every single day and to help each other. A great adventure is waiting for us, an adventure that we want to live and to share at 100%.
