Hout Bay is a picturesque port town situated about 20kms outside of Cape Town. On the hills just outside of Hout Bay, there is a township recieving the support of James House, an NGO aiming to help improve the lives of its community.
The goal of our association is to assist James House by purchasing a shipping container which can be used as a secure home or living space for a vulnerable child or children and their parents or guardians.
We have started raising funds by organising South African film evenings, selling artisanal products and organising a music concert but in order for us to reach the goal of buying a second-hand shipping container, we need your help.
Why fund it?
We have chosen a 12m long container as it can be converted into a living area with up to 5 bedrooms which is sufficient for an extended family. Please note, this is just an example and what we manage to create will depend on how much money is raised AND the needs of the community as communicated to us by James House.
We obtained several quotes from local companies so that it would minimise transportation charges and also support local business.
