HEC SEED 2018

Join HEC Seed, the Major Seed-stage Startups Event, by HEC Paris Students HEC Seed is the major student-run event dedicated to Seed-stage startups in France. The event will encompass the following:- 2 startup competitions (Concept and Scale-up),- speakers and panels including Fashion & Tech and Social Entrepreneurship. The event will take place on April 5th, 2018. In 2018, HEC Seed dares to innovate by creating a crowdfunding campaign to raise the prize, all of which will be attributed to the startups winning the pitch competitions! The prize money will come on top of other prize already secured, among which are tickets for VIVATECH! Our vision is to connect and empowers young entrepreneurs and students by connecting them with investors and corporates of the European entrepreneurial scene, employing a dynamic mix of inspiring competitive pitches and networking opportunities. <a target="_blank" href="http://www.hec.edu/News-Room/News/Seed-Entrepreneurship-Summit-2017-A-Major-Success">Last year's event</a>, the 2017's edition:- 550 participants,- 39 startups,- 60% survival rates after 1 year,- 600 k euros seed series enabled! <img width="100%" alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/480105/HEC-Seed-Entrepreneurs-2017_full_center_column-1516398905.jpg" />  It is the first time that HEC seed starts a crowdfunding campaign to make the prize of the startup competitions. The campaign is a unique opportunity to directly help the winning startups. Our target is to give a prize of 5,000 euros. If the campaign amount is exceeded, the extra funds will either form an extra pitch competition prize, or will help secure a great venue at Station F to give even more visibility to startups! <img width="100%" alt="" src="https://d3v4jsc54141g1.cloudfront.net/uploads/project_image/image/480106/10402563_426028500896379_3695997283392054500_n-1516399197.png" />

Allocation of funds

Because your money goes directly to the startups! The exceeding amount will help us secure the best venue to give great visibility to the startups. Startups will be invited to apply in February 2018; the HEC Seed team will subsequently select the best startups that will come and pitch during the event. Selected startups will be then invited to pitch directly at the event early April 2018. During the event, several juries, composed of experts from the entrepreneurship domain, will select the best startups and declare winners. In addition to the prizes, the budget for this event entails costs for catering, venue and other marketing related costs. We invite KissKissBankers to continue funding this project even after the goal is achieved. The excess will either form another pitch competition prize or help us secure the venue at Station F. For information, the budget for HEC Seed 2017 was as follows:- 60k euros in total;- 15,3k euros for catering;- 9k euros for marketing;- 35,7k for logistics incl. booth, shuttle bus etc. The 2018 edition cost baseline target is approximatively the same as last year and is being consolidated at the moment. If the campaign exceeds its target by a sufficient amount, the event will be hosted directly at Station F.
